Description: It is finally time to return to Ericson's—but just hours before Clementine and Louis decide to have a little alone time before hitting the road.
...

A/N: Gabe is about to snap- hope you all enjoy. Also, Louis sings to Clementine in this part.

I looked hard for a song to use and ended up with one I've used before. I have no regrets. It's my favorite song and I'd kill for Louis to actually sing it.

*No post tomorrow maybe, but there will be one Thursday*

Comments appreciated! ❤️

Rated: T (Louis has some captivating singing skills...all I'm gonna say-)

"It's nice having time like this, together,"

Clementine says to Louis as they pass tall wilting trees—Louis slaps a branch out of his way, hoisting his backpack over his left shoulder. He smiles at her.

"You can say that again," Louis agrees, shuffling through the orange and red ground. His eyes stay at the new combat boots. Beginning to miss his old brown ones.

Just hours from now, they'd be headed back to the school for proper preparation.

He wondered. Often, during the month and few days away. If the place was still standing. The idea of the only family he ever knew being stolen by a bunch of immoral raiders—it made his blood cold.

"Where exactly are we going?" Clementine inquires, her gentle tone breaking him away from his mulling.

Smiling again, he makes a zipping motion over his lips. Shaking his head—"Surprise,"

Clementine tilts her head in a eye roll, making him snicker lowly

"You know you're cute when you get mad,"

"Am I?" Clementine turns from the aisle of trees and brush, to him. Louis passes a ray of dusty light. His newly cleaned face showcased every soft freckle along his cheeks and nose. Making her smile.

"You're also scary," He adds with a pout, shivering purposely. "I'd hate to be on your bad side,"

"How do you know you're not?" She raises the end of her lip. Watching as her question strikes him. He kicks a pine cone, skidding it along the distance of dried mud and leaves.

"If this is how you treat people on your bad side," Louis slows before stopping. His loose dreads that frame his face sway with his attitude. "Then I'd be jealous,"

"You? Jealous?" Clementine mocks a laugh making Louis squint, watching her walk before him, mouth slightly agape before he catches up to her.

"I can be mean too, ya know,"

"You're not mean to me," She makes a point with the cutest smile and lash fluttering, making his heart skip a beat.
...

"I don't need help," Clementine climbs over the fallen log—dismissing Louis's hands at her arm and back.

"If you get a splinter don't blame me," he steps back as she slides down, the force was a bit much. Making her small form stumble forward.

Louis lets out a laugh, adjusting the askew hat on her head, she was about to speak. But he was quick in the kiss.

"We're almost there," he pulls away, the leaves above hid most of the sun. But the light laced through—she had to take a moment to admire his smile.

They continue for some time until Louis guides her to a rather low and cluttered bunching of trees.

Raising a arm he lifts the drapery of low leaves, entering a clearing now. "Here we are,"
