A/N: Louis is going to snap in a way y'all haven't seen. Also, I know every single one of you are about to HATE Sophie so hard. I have to say, she's going to surprise you at the end of this story.

Also next chapter is Clouis's reunion and a HUGE moment between them 💗 👀 (I know I said I wouldn't update today but I can't wait to get it out-)

ALSO, a big shoutout to: louintine4eva for giving me an idea for this! And also tomhottland for being so supportive of lil Marshmallow and a new friend I've made who is in the process of their own Clouis story. (It's amazing, I recommend!) clemownsmyheart

"Do you miss Louis?"

AJ whispers, cuddling close to Clementine who was still restless. She was quiet and he knew what that meant.

Her eyes were relaxed along the faint oil lamp by her bedside. A smile appears when she feels the familiar hug of AJ's behind her; his way of consoling her—often times he was the only one who could.

"More than you know, Goofball," she felt his head snuggle between the blades of her shoulders. His tiny hand laying over her bare forearm. He tries his best to tug the blanket over her; a sweet gesture.

She was hot, a new symptom of her condition. It was better than the nausea. She'd rather wear a disco broccoli shirt than puke all night.

"Don't be sad Clem," AJ's voice was tired, drifting in and out. "He'll be home soon, I know he will,"

Clementine was almost envious of the inborn innocence he still had. Despite everything they've been through, he always seemed to look at a situation with hope. Not really going into the possibilities of the bad—it was something Louis had too, that childlike ability to point to the sunny side during a storm.

She sighs into her pillow, hoping that one day she could regain that skill.
...

The next morning she awoke to the cluttering of rain at the large window and the roaring of wind; it slapped against the panes. She'd forgotten to close the curtains—so the morning haze split through; disrupting her slumber rudely.

With a long and grumpy yawn she wakes, curling her toes and shuffling in the vast bed. She sits up, legs over the side of the bed.

Clementine was met with the same thought as when she fell asleep. Louis.

All she worried about was him, only a glimmer of that concern was left for Gabe. If that.

Clementine noticed AJ had woken up when she sees his side of the bed was made, she smiles groggily.

"How's the baby?" AJ asks, startling her.

She turns over her shoulder to the little boy trotting in with hot water. He carefully holds the mug out, splattering the heated liquid along the floorboards before making it to the nightstand of her room—he then wiggles out a wrinkled tea bag from his back pocket—setting it along the wooden tabletop with a hesitant laugh that warmed her heart.

"I think he's okay," she lowers her brows, "Why do you ask?"

"Louis told me I have to take care of her," AJ corrects with a pout, beginning to ready the tea himself. He kept his eyes on her as he tore open the bag—"Louis says the baby is a girl,"
