"YOU NEVER LISTEN!"

I wake up to arguing in the room that shares the wall with my bed. I sit up and after a few moments of waking up I listen to what is being said.

"You barely know the guy and you are treating him better then you are treating me, you brother, and all of you friends. You are putting him up on this pedestal that he doesn't fucking deserve," I can tell that it is Travis talking and to whom he is talking to my only guess would have to be Tyler.

"That's bullshit. I am not putting him up on a pedestal. He is just making a lot more sense about this shit than any of you are," yeah it's Tyler that Travis is talking to.

"So what you are telling me is that you don't give a shit about what any of us are doing. You are going going to through all of your relations away because of this one guy and how he makes more sense about something that you won't fucking tell me about. Is that what you are telling me or am I missing something. I'll sit and I'll fucking wait for your answer," I can tell that Travis is trying to keep a calm head but it's difficult.

I don't know how long they have been arguing and I only know part of what they are talking about. There is a long silence between the two. I can't hear a thing, it sounds like neither one of them is moving, I can hear one of their pads going off. Someone moves and after a few moments someone finally talks.

"I have to go, don't wait up for me tonight," Tyler says

"No we aren't done with this conversation. I want to know why the hell this guy is so fucking important to you that you are willing to throw everything away," Travis says

"I said I have to go," Tyler says and the door of their room slams shut.

I take my ear away from the wall and just sit there. I pull my knees up and hug them trying to think and process what I just heard. It's weird to think that they just had an argument because growing up they were always really close. I let out a sigh and run a hand over my face. I look at my pad and I see that I have a few messages from some of the others.

"Hey Jonathan, heads up I hear there is talk about some new surveys and projects happening soon with the government. I don't know when it will happen or what they are doing but I know you are into that sort of thing. Talk to you later," this is Clarabell's message.

She and I connected through keeping updated on the government's doing and what they were planning next, along with elections, and stuff like that. Also she and I both have some family members who are in the lower ranks of scientist who work for the government.

"Jonathan, I think the something is going on with Madison. She and I planned to work on homework together this morning but she bailed on me. Saying something came up. I know you were the last person to see her. I was wondering if she was okay," Sally has always been a mother hen type when it came to looking after our little group.

I message her back saying that she fine when I walked her home last night. I left out our conversation since it didn't seem appropriate nor important at the moment.

"Jonathan man, something is going on with Tyler. He came in late and was super pissed about something. I don't know what. He saw that I was still awake when he came back and instantly went and laid down facing away from me. You know he never acts like that. I think Chris has something to do with this. I'm going to talk to him in the morning. Sorry if we start arguing and wake you up," Travis sent this late last night.

I sighed and set my pad down. God things were so much more simple just a couple weeks ago. Hell it's getting close to the end of the month and I feel like it has already been a whole damn year.
