~Tifa's POV~

"Wake up you lazy bums," Cid walks into the room beating a pot with a wooden spoon. Original.

"This isn't boot camp, Cid," Yuffie groans, pulling the covers over her head.

"Mmphmamfumuh," Cloud grumbles under his pillow. I roll my eyes and stand, tugging his blanket off.

"Up, sleepy head."

"I don't wanna," he whines.

"Get up!" I drag him by the arm to the floor, where he lands with a thud, blinking blankly a the ceiling.

"Ow," he finally says.

"Get up," Cid hits the pot by his ear. I can't take it anymore! I snatch the spoon out of his hand and snap it across my knee, tossing the broken pieces to him.

"Shut. Up." I say.

"Sorry!" he holds up his hands and leaves the room.

"Thank you for that," Vincent pats my back.

"You're welcome," I laugh back.

Cloud stands and stretches his arms above his head. I know better than to bring up last night. He probably found it awkward to wake up to me napping beside him. I lace up my boots and fluff Cloud's hair.

"We'll be waiting."

He yawns, nodding and attempting to put his feet in his shoes while half asleep. I smile and follow the others down the hall. I'll let him wake up on his own, he had a bad night again. Those nightmares were pretty common when I was around, I can't imagine what it was like when he was alone. Or maybe we are the ones causing them because we were there too. Or maybe they were the same. Or maybe I'll never know.

~Cloud's POV~

I sigh with relief when Tifa leaves. I didn't want to seem rude, but it was kinda odd waking up to her beside me. The last time that happened was years ago. I struggle to put my foot in my shoe.

"Wrong foot," I hear someone grumble. I look up and see Yuffie laying on her bunk and resting her head on her hand, looking slightly amused.

"I'm tired, give me a break," I roll my eyes and switch the boot out for my other one, which slips right on.

"So am I, buddy," she yawns, stretching.

"Thanks for fixing my face yesterday, it feels much prettier," I smile.

'I'm sure it does," she tosses her blankets off and let's her arm dangle off her bed. I stand and start to leave.

"Help me!" she groans. I sigh and pick her up off the bed. Then I try to set her down, but she won't let go of my neck.

"Yuffie," I groan.

"Well now I'm comfy, don't blame me," she snuggles her face into my neck. I sigh and pick her legs back up, carrying her to the room we're all meeting in.

"Looks like somebody finally decided to show up," Barret rolls his eyes.

"What good is she if she's sleeping?" Vincent raises an eyebrow.

"She'll wake up eventually, I set her down in a chair and make my way over to the wall, since sometime between the moment I walked in and the moment I looked for a seat, Tifa took up as much space as possible next to RedIIX. " I've got this," Vincent mutters, pushing off the wall next to me and pulling out his gun. He nudges Yuffie with his pointy golden shoe and puts the gun right in her direct line of vision. She blinks her eyes open.

"Cloud I told you I... OH MY GOD!" She flings her Conformer at Vincent, who ducks, laughing really hard. It hits the front window, bounces off and gets wedged into the floor.

"YOU JERK!" she shoves Vincent even though he's still laughing.

"Hey, no throwing weapons in the Highwind," Cid scolds.

"You sound like my mother," Cait Sith says.

"Can robots even have mothers?" Barret looks confused.

"Sephiroth does," RedIIX mutters.

"You forget that I'm controlled and spoke. through someone at Shinra," Cait Sith shakes his head.

"Right," Barret nods. It's like a head argument.

"I'm gonna kill you," Yuffie mutters to Vincent, but his amused smile is hidden by the cloth over his mouth.

"Down to business!" Cid announces. "We got a call from the Turks last night."

"Great," I grumble.

"They want to help us with our search for Sephiroth."

"Why do you think they'd be nice to us?" Tifa frowns.

"They're not being nice," I speak up. "We just have a common enemy."

"Thank you for that... explanation, Cloud," Cid nods.

"This isn't a classroom, Cid," Barret scoffs.

"Sorry, I've trained tons of astronauts in my lifetime, I'm used to the whole classroom setting."

"Do I look like an astronaut to you?" Vincent raises an eyebrow.

"You look like a zombie vampire," Yuffie smirks.

"Thanks."

"No problem."

"Anyway," Cid says loudly to get their attention. "We're meeting up with them to see if they're still up for it. I think we should send..."

"Cloud, Tifa, and Vincent." Barret finishes.

"That works to..." Cid raises his eyebrows.

"Where are we headed?" I ask.

"Nowhere, we're here," RedIIX nods his big head towards the window. I walk over to the smooth glass and glance down. Nibelheim? As in my hometown that was brined down and build up again, the real people replaced with imposters. I shake my head and look at Tifa.

"Did they do it to makes us feel weaker?" I ask as she steps closer.

"I doubt it. Even if they did, it just makes me angrier."

"Right," I nod, looking back out at the tall mountains, easily locating Mt. Nibel. Vincent joins my other side and waves my fusion sword in front me to get my attention.

"How can you use this thing?" Vincent shakes his head. "It's too heavy for battle."

"Not for me. Besides, I had my fair share of guns when I was with Shinra, I hated it," I shake my head.

"You obviously didn't make it into the Turks," Vincent shakes his head. "Had some pretty sweet rifles. Nothing as nice as this though," he pulls out his Death Penalty, personally crafted for him from the woman he loved, Lucretia. The mother of Sephiroth.

"Ready to go?" Tifa interrupts.

"Let's go waltz through a fake town with fake people that have fake lives. Whoopee," I say flatly.

"Alright then," her eyes widen and she turns toward the exit. "I'll take that as a yes."
