~Vincent's POV~

I watch Cloud limp away with Marlene on his shoulders, using his sword as a cane to support his weight. I swear he messed up his knee. Red'll probably do some materia junk on him though. He should be okay by the time we get back. If we get back, that is. Tifa looks back at me out of the corner of her eye to make sure I'm still coming and then speeds up her walk.

"Do you even know where they are?" I frown.

"I have a good idea."

"Where would that be?"

"You'll see," she says, jogging.

"I thought they couldn't find anyone?"

"I lied," she shakes her head. "The citizens are attacking them. They're armed with random stuff from their homes, but I heard that they found a few people with guns. They're the townspeople, so I don't know if we should take them down or not."

"Only attack if they do," I say, pulling my gun out just in case.

"Let's just hope they don't," she frowns.

We make it a few more blocks before a gunshot rings out nearby and a bullet hole strikes right through a trash can a yard away from me. I find the source of the shot and aim.

"Fire?" I look down at Tifa. The armed woman across the street seems unfazed and aims her weapon at us.

"I guess."

I take the woman down with one shot and we keep going. Tifa manages to knock out a guy who runs at us with a metal pipe and I shoot down three more people. So really, she's being nice and giving these people a chance and I'm just like "Eh, they tried to shoot me and now they will die. Target practice!" That's just messed up. I shake my head and we eventually find the rest of the group.

"There you are! Finally!" Cid groans, walking over. I take note of the slight limp in his step.

"How's it going over here?" Tifa looks around.

"We got most of the fire out, I just don't know what to do about all these people. They're under a trance or something." Cid shakes his head. "I didn't think it'd be right to kill em, but one got a good shot at Yuffie, so Barret's determined to just knock em out."

"So they're not controlling their actions?" she asks.

"I don't think so," he frowns.

"Oops..." I mutter.

"What did you do this time?" Cid whines.

"I maybe killed four people. Innocent people. People that didn't deserve to die," I bite my lip and glare at my feet. Why does everyone have to die because of me? Okay, that was just dramatic. But still.

"You could've known," Tifa defends, touching my arm lightly.

"I know, it's just... Still not right."

Nothing's right anymore," she says before directing her attention to Barret who wipes the sweat off his forehead before marching over.

"Where's Cloud?"

"He went back to the ship with the kids," Tifa sighs.

"He back out of a fight?" Barret says slowly.

"He kinda... messed up his knee from jumping out of the second floor of a burning building with two children on his back. Nothing too bad," I shrug indifferently. In almost every battle, Cloud is the one with the worst luck. Heck, he has the worst luck out of all of us out of battle.
