~Cloud's POV~

Running after Denzel, we manage to escape with the materia to the training room. Then I empty the magical crystal balls into an empty bin and high five him. We win! Woot Woot!

"Okay, give me your staff," I hold out my hand.

"Here."

"You put it in these slots," I show him, holding up a green one and demonstrate by pushing it in. The palm sized globe shrinks to the size of a marble as it glows brightly in its slot. "I usually always put a Cure in first, along with an All, but since you only have six slots and four are joined in groups of two, you don't really have to."

"So... which is which?"

"Pick up that green one right there on top," I point. He hesitantly reaches for it and draws back a little when its cool surface reaches his fingertips. I laugh at his nervousness.

"Its not gonna hurt you, Denz." He nods and picks it up. "There, see? Wasn't so hard."

"Just show me," he rolls his eyes.

"It's actually kinda like a crystal ball sorta thing. Look right in the center."

"Through it?"

"Yeah, it looks kinda like jello, right?" He nods. "But it's hard."

"So I just look inside?"

"Right."

I don't even have to glance to see that there's a small image of a flame flickering inside and Denzel's face lights up.

"Whoa."

"Cool, right?"

"Mhmm."

"So look, I'm gonna use one of Red's personal favorites," I say, this time taking blue and putting it in an empty double slot.

"Put that one next to it."

"How does it fit?"

"I don't really know," I admit. "But it's a magic thing I guess. Normally I'd ask Bugenhagen or Aeris but... You know," I rub an uncomfortable spot on my neck.

"So I just put it over the slot and..." he tries to force the materia in, but it slips from his hand. I reach out in a desperate attempt to catch it, but someone else does before I can.

"See you stole my stuff again, huh?" Yuffie teases, handing me the Quadramagic materia back, which casts the spell paired with it to cast four times in a row.

"Do you want him to learn or not," I laugh, putting it in the slot for him.

"So how do I cast it?" he frowns.

"Well let's not use fire inside, I don't know what I was thinking," I chuckle nervously at Yuffie's glare. "Here." I tap over the materia twice and it rolls out, landing in my hand. "How does ice sound?"

"Fine," He shrugs.

"The rest you should talk to the Ninja Princess of Wutai about," I motion to Yuffie. She rolls her eyes.

"That was years ago, Cloud."

"It was still ridiculous."

"Let me teach my student," she scoffs, pushing me out of the way.

"How do you use it?" he frowns, looking at the end of the staff where Yuffie snaps the materia cover shut.

"Defends on how you mean it," she crosses her arms. "If you had that ice paired with Elemental, all you have to do is hit something to do ice damage. But without... It's hard to describe. Its like... you're kinda willing it to work."
