The Sins of Fairies (The Seven Deadly Sins x Fairy Tail)

Chapter 9- Daughter of Belialuin vs Grandson of Makarov

"The next matchup will be between Merlin, the Boar Sin of Gluttony, vs my very own grandson and leader of the Thunder Legion, Laxus Dreyar!" Makarov announced, getting the crowd excited for the fight of one of their strongest members.

"This will be easy, Laxus doesn't even need to go all out against that woman." Freed declared, keeping his calm attitude, but slightly blushing when looking at Merlin directly due to her revealing clothing.

"Yeah, there's no way Laxus will lose!" Bickslow added, with his 'babies' saying 'no way, no way'.

"Honestly, she'll be lucky to even survive this fight..." Evergreen mockingly included.

"Don't believe that. Just like King, Merlin may not have much physical strength, but she makes up for it with magical power and intelligence." Meliodas warned with a grin.

"Oh really?" Erza asked.

"Yeah. There's been multiple instances when she used her quick wits to play her opponents in her hands. Also her power 'Infinity' means she's got unlimited magic, so most likely she won't even be drained at the end." Ban responded.

"Yeah, she's the most powerful mage in history for a reason..." Diane said.

"Are you kidding me! I bet I could mop the floor with her, cause there's no better mages then the ones in Fairy Tail!" Natsu rudely declared.

"Ni shi shi please, if you can't even defeat Gowther, you've got no chance against her..." Meliodas gloated, earning an angry growl from the Dragon Slayer.

"Oh yeah?! Well LEMME AT THAT SKINNY LITTLE JE-!" He started, but got shot in the neck with a dart that instantly made him fall asleep, with Gowther being identified as the one to do so.

"... Oh, I'm sorry Captain, did you want me to finish that confrontation?" Gowther asked.

"Still, the point here is, in terms of who's strongest, it's tied between the Captain, Escanor, and Merlin." King explained.

Everyone just looked in surprise and interest. They've all already witnessed Meliodas's and a bit of Escanor's power, but hearing that Merlin rivals them in power was quite a claim considering her appearance and lack of strength displayed.

"(Ahem) If you're all done bickering, then the match may now... BEGIN!" Makarov announced, catching everyone's attention again.

Laxus stared strongly at Merlin with his arms crossed, whilst she did the same except floating and with a suspicious grin. Not even a second later, Laxus disappeared in a flash of lightning, as he was charging at Merlin at an incredible speed to attempt the first strike. Once coming close enough to hit her and reforming his physical form, Laxus went for a potentially skull smashing haymaker. As he swung his arm, he found himself only hitting the air itself, as his intended target suddenly vanished.

"I see. You're able to literally move as fast as lightning with your magic, unfortunately..." Merlin said, revealing to be a few feet behind Laxus and out of her original spot instantly.

"It is highly outclassed by instant teleportation, such as mine..." She added with a smirk.

Laxus didn't look effected, instead maintaining his calm demeanour, and turning around to face her. Instead of lightning, he charged straight at her by foot, going for a massive punch straight to her torso. Before he could though, a sudden wall of purple transparent energy came between his fist and Merlin, which was part of a huge cube that engulfed Merlin like a shield.

"PERFECT CUBE! An impenetrable cube that originates from the Demon Clan, ensuring absolute protection as nothing can penetrate it..." She lectured.
