The Boar Hat crew along with the trio of Gilthunder, Howzer and Griamore were currently leading Team Natsu down the hallway, allowing them to admire the decorative and fashionable designs across every wall and floor. Erza was keeping her eyes peeled on Natsu, in hopes he wouldn't destroy the place by accident as usual.
"Wow, what a big place..." Lucy complimented, completely in awe at the architecture.
"Yeah. The castle is obviously the largest structure in the whole of Liones, standing as a large symbol of power for the kingdom." King explained.
"Though there were a few times it was destroyed..." Diane added.
"Yeah. When we were in the battle against the kingdom's corruption, or when we were dealing with the invasion of the Demon Race." Ban said, slightly squinting his eyes at the second part of his sentence.
"Wow, so you've all experienced some incredible events, haven't ya?" Gray asked.
"No shi shi, yep! Even death was just another thing to behold!" Meliodas said.
Everyone stopped for a second when hearing that, staring directly at the blind midget in confusion.
"Oh right, I didn't tell you. You see, my father, the Demon King, placed a curse on me so that I'd remain immortal and return from death with my emotions taking away each time..." He elaborated.
"That's horrible!" Lucy said sympathetically.
"Man, what a crazy bastard..." Gray added.
"Yeah well, it was all part of his plan for me to become fully suited to inherit his throne and become the Demon King..." Meliodas added.
"Sounds like you've been through some hardships..." Erza stated, looking towards the Dragon Sin of Wrath with sympathy.
"After 3,000 years, you learn when to cry, and when to suck it up..." Meliodas said.
Team Natsu looked at Meliodas with much sadness. He was cursed to remain immortal and had to witness his love die in front of his eyes so many times, yet he managed to tough it out and prevail, eventual breaking the curse and giving the old bastard a lesson in humility (most likely with a sword in the eye).
"I just got one more thing to ask... how and why are you known as the Seven Deadly Sins?" Lucy asked.
Everyone stopped when she asked that question, with the Sins themselves looking straight at her with small frowns.
"... We didn't become an order out of noble means. Instead we are a group of individuals who have committed great sins in our lives, and so we want to atone by pledging our loyalty to those who would offer redemption for our actions..." King explained.
"Each of us are branded with the scarlet mark of a beast in order to represent our sins, and have served the kingdom for over 6 years, successfully fighting off any threats to arise. The king himself gave us our Sacred Treasures and predicted our forming..." Merlin added.
"Wait... 'predicted'?" Wendy asked.
"Yeah. The king has a power which allows him to see future events through predictions. One day 16 years ago, he saw that we seven sinners would be formed in order to defeat and end the threat of the Demon Race and their most elite force, the Ten Commandments." Diane said.
"Wow! Incredible. Is there anything else about your group?" Lucy asked.
"Well, we match AND surpass the Ten Commandments in power, meaning we have strength equal to natural disasters..." King answered, causing everyone in Team Natsu to jaw drop.
