Gladion never celebrated his birthday. As a kid, Lusamine didn't want to waste her money on gifts for her children. Ever since, he never felt the need to.
On the other hand, Moon loved birthdays. She loved to celebrate her friends, and it was always a lot of fun.
Tomorrow was Gladion's birthday, and Moon wanted to do something special for him. Moon stayed another day so she could use his far superior kitchen to bake cupcakes. She made sure to go to sleep early so she had plenty of time to prepare.
Moon woke up at 6:00, before the sun even came up yet. She made sure not to disturb Gladion as she made her way out of bed and changed into the clothes she wore for the day. Lillie was always a morning person, so Moon decided to ask her for some help.
Knock knock
"Good morning, Moon! Wasn't expecting you to be up already." Lillie answered the door with a smile. "Morning. Do you think can I get your help with something?" Moon asked. "Oh, sure. What's up?" Lillie answered as she walked back into her room and sat down. Moon followed and said "Y'know, since it's Gladion's birthday, I wanted to do something special..." a light blush covered Moon's face. It was a simple question but she felt a little odd asking Lillie about it. "Do you know what flavor cupcakes he would like?" She asked. "Aw shoot, I knew I forgot something! Not like he cares about it anyway." Lillie joked. "He likes chocolate, though doesn't everybody. I'd say classic batter and chocolate frosting is the way to go." "Wow, thanks!" Moon thanked. "Better go to the store then..." She thought out loud. "I can come with you if you want! I'm not doing anything today so..." Lillie suggested. "Oh thanks! It's always nice to have a partner shopping." Moon thanked. So off they went!
