Behind the story:
The Child in Me came about as a random thought while I was watching Tarzan one day. I thought of how each of the girls fit the roles of characters in certain childhood movies that I loved. I wanted this book to be a trip down memory lane for you guys, but also have a cute story line.
Story Behind Lenny:
Lenny's character was inspired by Lightning McQueen. He was a top racer, but one bad move on the track cost him his life (though McQueen was only faced with early retirement). He loved Dinah very much, and she loved him. So when he died, she took it very hard. But Lenny always found a way to comfort Dinah whenever he could (the cool chill in the nape of her neck). I didn't want his presence to be haunting, but comforting.
Norminah's Story:
At first, I wasn't going to have Norminah be a love interest in this story. But I'm Norminah trash so I just had to indulge myself, but I wasn't gonna make it an easy thing. Norminah definitely has a history that stems from how close they became back in late 2016 through majority of 2017 (a great year for Norminah shippers). I wanted there to be a little more depth to this story, and Norminah's history and progress in the story accomplished that.
Author's Message:
Hello Curlycues! It's the end of The Child in Me. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I loved writing it! One of my Curlycues had a birthday yesterday, and in honor of that, I published a short Dinally fanfic called Game Hop for her. It's heavily inspired by the movie Wreck-It-Ralph. You guys should check it out (and give PoisonIvysKiss some belated birthday love cause that's my baby 😉).
For those of you who follow my other Norminah book The Upside-down, it is now officially off hold sincethis book is now completed. Updates will begin in the very near future, so be on the look out for that. For those who haven't read it yet, you should. It's a good read from what I've heard 😂
