Water splashes, squeals, music, and laughter could be heard from the Amasio house.

Dinah's backyard came to life with the brightness of the lights hung all around, the pool's reflection off the kids smiling faces, and the vibrancy of the quirky beat sounding from the sound system.

The children, along with Maya, were having their own fun in the pool, while Ally, Lauren, and Normani conversed light heartedly, making sure to keep an eye on their babies every now and then.

Their hands were occupied with small drinks to hold them over until dinner was ready, which was being prepared carefully in the kitchen by Dinah as she smiled at the sounds of her family, her hips swaying a little at the song being played.

As she put the lid on a slow cooking salmon, she felt small arms wrap themselves around her waist, causing her to look down at her beautiful boy.

His eyes sparkled like stars as his smile stayed glued to his face, little droplets of water escaping the curly ends of his hair.

Dinah could only melt at the cute sight.

"Hey bug," she said with a smile. "You enjoying yourself so far?"

"I am!" Kai responded happily. "Thank you mommy. You're the best! I love you."

Seeing a tiny dilemma, the six year old beckoned for his mother to come to his height, only to plant a quick but wet smooch on her cheek before dashing back out to the pool and his cousins.

Dinah giggled to herself before turning back around to check on the salmon. Seeing that it still needed some time to cook, she decided to start on her side dishes.

It wasn't until about five minutes later that she felt another presence behind her. But she didn't need to turn around when she heard the velvety soft voice from behind.

"Need any help Dimples?" Normani asked, approaching the blonde with a friendly smile.

"No thanks," Dinah replied with a small giggle. "I'm almost done with everything. But you're more than welcome to keep me company while I finish up."

"Don't mind if I do."

The ebony then made a small show of hopping on the kitchen island, swinging her legs back and forth with a million dollar on her face.

Dinah could do nothing but laugh. No matter how old they got, Normani would always be a princess at heart. Better yet, if Dinah was being honest with herself, the ebony would always be a queen at heart.

"So," Normani began, "I know since the girls and I got here you and I haven't had much time to talk. How've you been? It's been a minute since I've heard from you since Lenny passed."

After setting the now cooked salmon on multiple plates, Dinah turned around to Normani, a sad smile gracing her lips.

"Honestly?" Dinah started. "Up until about half a year ago, I've been really depressed about it. Lenny was one of only two people I ever gave my heart to."
