Imelda wore the purple dress she'd wore on her first date with Héctor to El Huerte Secreto. She was obviously unhappy with Ernesto's presence, but she figured it would be easy enough to ignore him with Héctor there.

When she got to the restaurant, she immediately embraced Héctor without stopping to acknowledge Ernesto's presence. The couple hugged for about a minute straight before immediately holding hands. A host led them to a booth, where Héctor and Imelda slid onto one side together, leaving Ernesto to sit alone.

Imelda and Héctor could only sit a normal distance apart from each other for five minutes before sliding close to each other with Imelda putting her head on Héctor's shoulder.

"You two can't keep your hands off each other!" Ernesto laughed. Héctor and Imelda just looked at each other.

Imelda made sure to order the cheapest thing on the menu, while Ernesto ordered the most expensive.

"How have you been, Imelda?" asked Ernesto.

"I've been well. And yourself?"

"I've been fine. It's hard getting Héctor over there to stop writing letters to you and start writing songs," said Ernesto with a glance in Héctor's relationship.

"At least I have a girl to write letters to," retorted Héctor. Imelda smiled. Ernesto didn't reply and went back to watching Imelda and Héctor give each other romantic looks until the food came, which he quickly ate.

"I think I should be going. Thank you for the invite, Héctor," said Ernesto. He lingered for a moment and looked at Imelda, expecting her to ask him to stay.

"Goodbye!" she said. Ernesto stalked off.

As soon as he was out of earshot, Imelda laughed, which caused Héctor to laugh. They laughed for a while before the waiter offered them dessert.

"I think I'm good," said Imelda, already feeling bad about Héctor paying for dinner.

The waiter left, Héctor paid the check while Imelda offered to pay multiple times, and they stood up and walked towards the park.

"Thank you again," said Imelda.

"I already told you that you don't have to be thanking me. It was the least I could do for you," Héctor said.

"I'm still not going to stop thanking you. And also, I'm paying next time, no matter what we do," Imelda insisted.

"We'll see."

"There will be no we'll see. My decision is final. And if you spend so much as a centavo, I will hit you with my shoe."

"Alright, I guess you'll be paying!" Héctor said.

They walked around together for a while, having a nice time. Then a thought entered Héctor's mind. This is pretty romantic. Do I kiss her?

Soon, Héctor asked himself a thousand questions. Do I ask? What do I say? What if she says no? What if I don't ask and she hits me with her boot? What if I do ask and she hits me with her shoe?

This is ridiculous, Héctor. You've already said you loved her. She didn't hit you then, she won't hit you now. Ask the question, Héctor!

"Imelda, mi amor?"

"Yes?" she asked.

Héctor thought for a moment about whether or not to ask.

"Héctor, are you alright?" asked Imelda.

"Can I... can we... should we..." Héctor stuttered. I'm an idiot. I might have just ruined things with her forever.

Imelda, however, being as quick-witted as she was, only took a second to realize what an embarrassed, nervous Héctor was going to ask. She leaned towards him and kissed him, putting poor Héctor out of his misery.

Neither of them wanted to pull away, but of course, they had to eventually. They immediately took a deep breath before kissing again.

"I'm assuming that was what you meant to ask?" Imelda said smugly.
