Evan POV
I finally got my cast off yesterday. My arm can finally breathe. I'm keeping the cast. It's almost part of me, like the cover of a musical album or something.
Connor and Jared came over after school. We played truth or dare at one point. Jared dared me to do a cartwheel and I almost re-broke my arm.
We sat in the grass in the front yard, watching cars and bikes and stuff. I was admiring trees, Connor was trying to find a position where the sun wasn't in his eyes, and Jared was desperately searching for cell reception.
"Jared, what are you doing?"
"I need to see if I won the youtube giveaway."
"Okay?"
Connor finally found a way to sit comfortably without being blinded. Then he said, "All I see is sky for forever."
Jared squinted at him. "Huh? That's deep."
"I don't know. I just thought of that."
Jared went back to his giveaway thing. I looked at Connor. "I like it."
He smiled and kissed my cheek.
"I don't like the number 17."
Jared asked "Why?"
"I don't know. It's just weird."
Connor asked, "But you're 17?"
"Well yeah but I don't like it. 17 looks evil and mean like it'll ruin my life."
Jared said "Dude you're weird."
Connor said "I kinda like 17. It's kind of like Jared. Like not bad, but definitely not my favorite."
Jared didn't even hear. He just groaned when his phone told him to connect to wifi.
"Just use my wifi," I suggested.
"Nooooo."
"Suit yourself."
