"Daddy?" My little girls voice was soft and curious. Her grey eyes were wide as she looked up at me, a slightly frown on her pretty face. A face that looked so much like mine.
I blinked. She looked like she was just saying something really important, or important to her at least, but I hadn't heard a word she just said because I was to busy thinking about another light skinned beauty.
Jaelynn.
She was all I ever thought about, even more so since she hasn't talked to me since Wednesday night. I didn't understand what was going on with her this week. I didn't know what was going on with me either, if I was completely honest.
There was just something about her that knocked me squarely off balance and when I did get back on, she was there, she was always there, to turn me back around. I was happy when I was around her, and I know she was too.
"Yes, baby." I finally manage to spit out to the eleven-month-old little girl sitting next to me.
She pouts and huffs and I wonder how I'm going to deal with her when she's my age. "You not isen to me!"
"I'm sorry baby, Daddy just has a lot on his mind right now. How about I get you some ice cream and put on Moana? Would that be better for you Missy?"
She nods eagerly, her little attitude disappearing with the thought of watching her favorite movie. I get her a bowl of vanilla ice cream and turn to Moana on Netflix. Moana was really the only thing that calmed her down anymore and it was to the point that I could quote dialogues from the movie. But I didn't mind, what made her happy made me happy.
As my daughter watches the movie my mind wonders, once again, to Jaelynn. She was supposed to have stayed until Friday but she went home yesterday day after she came back from the mall with Nae. She claimed that her parents were coming back early and she didn't want them to know she was out, but I knew that wasn't the truth. She's been acting weird for the past few days now and it was really starting to piss me off.
I wanted to give her space but then again I wanted her to tell me what the fuck was up before I drove myself crazy over her weird ass behavior. I pull out my phone and text her.
