It was 6:30 and I was supposed to be a Jaelynn's house by seven for the dinner that her parents invited me to. Her mom cornered me when I was leaving out on Friday and she saw how fucked up we looked. She thought that it would be a good idea for me to sit down with Jae's family since it was clear that we weren't just friends anymore.
Jaelynn's dukes fucked with me a little. When I used to come over before I got booked she always asked if I wanted to stay for dinner and she always asked how I was doing and shit. I think most of that was because she knew my mom was dead and that I lived without parental guidance, but I always liked to think that it was because I was so charming. Her dad on the other hand couldn't stand me and that was before I was tonguing down his daughter. I was sure that his dislike for me would increase now that I was.
So my nerves were off the charts because I really wanted them to both like me for real. I liked Jaelynn and something told me that she would be around for a long time. Her parents liking me was essential.
I sponge my hair for bout the twentieth time in five minutes with a mug on my face. My phone goes off and I couldn't be happier for the distraction.
An automatic smile comes on my face when I see that it's Jaelynn texting me.
