"Everyone listen up," I stood up and tapped my champagne glass as I had practiced a hundred times over before this date.
When I said everyone, I meant the whole ass family at the Spanish barbecue cookout that Raheem was so keen about us throwing. It was also a memorial for Cindy's death, it's been a year now and some months, Cam has been better than ever before. We visited her grave earlier and we all paid homage to the greatness that was Cindy Brakespeare.
"I've been meaning to do this for the longest while," I started.
I walked over to Cam and knelt down on one knee in the grass holding onto her left hand.
"Camille Antoinette Johnson, I've had eyes for you ever since you and Milly walked into the computer store five years ago and you couldn't leave the mouses alone, I knew you were the one because you knew that OS meant operating system while Milly over here was clueless," everyone started laughing and Milly was trying to defend herself.
"You stuck by my side while I was going through an emotional roller coaster and you wrote my worth on your skin so that every time I looked at you I was reminded of the person that I am and could be. You've molded me and shaped me into the woman I am today and I could never imagine spending the rest of my days with anyone else." I continued.
"Will you Camille Antoinette Johnson please do me the honor of becoming my wife and allowing me to love you until my eyes roll over into the back of my head and my strap game stops being A1?" I asked her with a devilish smirk on my face, I heard laughing in the background and Cam blushed.
"Will you Camomile, my soulmate please do me a huge favor by becoming my right hand woman? You're the only one who knows my demons and only your eyes have seen my skeletons, I'll only ever wear my scars for you because you'll always with no doubt smooth them over with your loving hands." I finished.
"Cam, mi amor, mi corazon.. will you marry me?" I asked her.
"Boy I thought you'd never ask," she said and I heard laughter in the background.
"It's a yes or no question," I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah doe.." she said and took the ring from the box handing it back to me so that I could slide it onto her finger.
"I love you," I said.
"And I love you," She shouted before jumping into my arms and lifting her feet off the ground.
"Easy babygirl, don't wanna hurt my lil baby boy now." I smirked.
"Don't curse my child, it's obviously going to be a girl." She hissed her teeth and I watched as she held her back and walked away from me.
I never understood what they meant by pregnant women waddled until I saw Cam holding up her sagging jeans pants and holding her back. I saw Mona going to her handing a plate of food, she's been eating nonstop. I had a feeling she was going to have twins because she was really huge.
She was babbling on and on about baby names but I knew she already had the name in store, she wasn't really thinking because she had already made up her mind. I was sitting with Banks and Raheem drinking scotch and talking about small things. Banks and Raheem wanted to retire but they didn't know how to.
"Y'all owe people or some shit?" I asked them.
"Nah, but we have our people to take care of. This is like a job for them you know." He said and I understood.
"Pass it on to someone who can run it from the background like you guys did. Keep it small and tight and only push out drugs," I said.
"You're right, but who would we pass it along to?" Raheem asked.
