"Yaaaay!~" You start to clap and everyone cheers when you blow out the candles on the cake, your 4th birthday was more special than you thought it would've been.
"Sweetie, mommy and daddy have something to tell you." They both looked at me smiling, another present?
"What is it, mommy?" You looked at her with hopeful eyes, excited at the thought of another present.
"Well you see, mommy and daddy have magic powers, mommy is a witch and daddy is a wizard." You just looked at them confused.
"So you say I have magic powers too? THAT'S SO COOL! DADDY DADDY I CAN USE MAGIC! CAN YOU TEACH ME PLEEEEEASE!~" They both smiled as you took it better than they expected, you've always been the type who wants to learn new stuff.
"Of course sweetie, we even got you some books here about the magical world."
"Daddy... I don't know how to read... I'm only 4 years old, I may be smarter than the other kids my age but I still can't read."
"Oh, you're right as always! Let's teach you to read and write."

You were waiting for the letter to go through the mail slot. You were getting impatient, you sat there staring at the door, and then!
*Hooty hoot*
The sound of an owl could be heard in the distance, you throw the book you've been reading away and rush to the door. You had been reading all sorts of books from Hogwarts history, different spells and the creatures that live there. You were more than prepared to enroll at Hogwarts. You even knew what house you would be in, Ravenclaw, the house that champions those with a ready mind, yet it has lived a little in Gryffindor's shadow. Both of your parents had been in Ravenclaw so there was no doubt you would be there too.
A letter falls on the ground, you pick it up and open it faster than you've opened anything before.

I heard an owl in the distance indicating that my letter had finally arrived, I walked to the door with a frown. I already knew what this was going to be like, my parents had told me all about it, I already knew which house I was going to be placed in.
Gryffindor, the house which most values the virtues of courage, bravery, and determination. I know it sounds good to be in Gryffindor but I have this weird feeling, I don't know if it's something good or bad but with the luck, I've had in my life so far... It's probably bad.
