The days after the announcement of the Sports Festival were more than odd. Your class was constantly bombarded with glares and malicious glances. Everyone was on edge, especially since Bakugou had decided to aggravate the other first years by spouting about how he was better than everyone else. You had gotten used to the annoying blonde and couldn't care less about what others thought about you or the class so his actions didn't bother you in the slightest. It did however bother the other students. You chose to ignore it and try and get through the rest of the week with as little aggressive encounters as possible.

Oddly enough, Bakugou had called out everyone in the class at least once. Everyone except for you. Not wanting to find out if it was because of your awkward interactions; you chose to leave it alone. He had been ignoring you as much as possible lately and you didn't want to do anything that would get you expelled. You highly doubted Aizawa would expel either of you but you wanted to be as careful as possible.

The nights were also filled with nonstop rigorous training for the festival. Of course you trained hard and even felt your bone marrow getting stronger the more you trained. Your mother left you alone, not understanding what all the training was for. After your father had left for another business trip your mother and sisters and slowly stopped talking to you. Not wanting to ruin your mentality right before the festival you chose to ignore that as well. All these thoughts slowly ate away at you. You had no idea what to do, you'd never been in a situation where your family hadn't just ignored your feelings but also you as a whole.

Like an ominous dark cloud, the day came. "Wow..." You exhaled shakily. Mina peered over her shoulder at you, her grin shrinking into a worried frown. "Is everything alright, Hone-kun?" You shook your head. "I'm fine. Just a little nervous is all." Nervous was right. Your father, All Might, Aizawa, your family, and the whole world would be watching. You still didn't have any definite solutions to your worries at the moment and they definitely didn't help calm any of your nerves.

Mina gave you a bright sympathetic smile and suddenly hugged you. Not knowing what to do you hugged her back. She let go of you and beamed brightly. "Don't worry about it! You'll do amazing, I already know you will!" A small smile spread across your lips. "Thank you, Mina." Although it was just a few words and a hug, you could feel the comfort in every moment.

Your sweet moment was cut short by Iida shouting for everyone to get ready. You did a short stretch feeling more confident with Mina's encouragement. 'Hopefully this'll go without a hitch.' You didn't feel fully confident that continuing with the Sports Festival was a good idea after the USJ attack, but you had confidence in the school's ability to make a sound decision.

"Midoriya." You froze. "Todoroki... what is it?" Everyone's heads moved towards the two now giving off a tense aura that engulfed the room. "Objectivity speaking... I'm stronger than you. More capable." You frowned. 'Damn, Frosty the Snow Man, no need to be a bitch.' You knew that what Walmart Jack Frost was saying was true, but you have no idea why it irritated you so much. "Huh?! S-sure..." A silent sigh escaped your lips; you wanted to jump out of a window. 'Midoriya, you dumbass. Don't take his shit.'

Biting your lip you held your breath. As much as you wanted to say something, you felt it was better for Midoriya to learn how to deal with rivalry...and you honestly were too lazy to deal with the consequences of butting into someone else's conversation. "All Might's got his eye on you, doesn't he." You couldn't help what came out of your mouth in that instant.

"Oooohh!" The sound of another and more confident voice mirrored your own. Looking to your right you saw Kaminari smiling at you shyly. 'Looks like we both couldn't help ourselves.' Everyone's tense eyes left the two from earlier and glared at the two idiots who had interrupted the flow of the previous conversation. "Sorry..." you quietly apologized. Kaminari continued to laugh as everyone rolled their eyes before Todorki continued.

"As I was saying...I'm not about to pry into why that is, but..." He paused and glared over at you as to say 'Bitch, don't even try me.' He took a breath seeing that he wouldn't be interrupted again. "I will beat you." Kaminari who hadn't seen anything wrong with his earlier exclamation spoke up. "Ooh! A declaration of war from the strongest in the class?!" You glared at him since he hadn't noticed that he wasn't making the situation any better. Unfortunately your blonde friend took it another way and slung an arm around you.

"Awe, don't get upset! What I meant to say was 'second' strongest in the class! You're the strongest in my heart." He gave you a wink as you pushed him off. "Not that idiot." Still not understanding what you meant he shrugged it off. "Hey, man, why pick a fight now?! We're about to go on..." Kirishima seemed to get the picture but was cut off by a monotonous Todoroki. "I really don't care. I'm not pretending to be anyone's friend here." Before this interaction you had a little bit of awe and admiration for Todoroki's strength, but now you were beginning to think he was just as much an annoying prick as Bakugou.

"Todoroki, I'm not sure why you felt the need...to tell me you'll beat me...You're clearly stronger...and I can't measure up to most of the others here in skill..." You felt awful. Midoriya wouldn't be your first pick on a hero team, but that didn't mean he wasn't trying or that he wasn't getting stronger. "...Objectivity speaking, even..." Peering towards your red haired friend you could see the pain on his face as Midoriya began speaking negatively of himself. "Don't be so negative, Midoriya. No need..."

He was quickly cut off by a more confident Midoriya. "But...!!! Everyone...even the kids from the other courses are aiming for the top. And I'm...well, lemme say this. I'm not gonna fall behind. I'm going for it too. With everything I've got!" Your heart swelled. 'Hell yeah! You go, Midoriya!' This was probably the most proud you'd felt in your whole life. Todoroki looked a bit shocked. "...right." And with that the Sports Festival had officially started.
