•The sound of heavy breathing, the buzzing of the screen, and incomprehensible voices were all that filled the arena as everyone stood at the edge of their nerves. "This!!" Midnight screamed out. No matter how many times she spoke you still couldn't believe she was right there, standing in the flesh right in front of you. Shaking your head you left your fanboy thoughts landing you back to reality.
Bold letters told you the next battle would be even harder. "Fuck." You couldn't help yourself but curse out loud. Although you had made some friends you weren't sure if that would you help you out here. "Cavalry battle...!" With those few words Kaminari had said it all. Trying to shake off the worry of not having enough friends for this battle you barely listened to the instructions given by Midnight.
"... Our first place participant is worth... ten million points!!" Looking over to the first place broccoli head you could tell he was sweating balls. If you hadn't gotten fourth, in this instance quite respectable, then you'd be laughing your ass off at the green haired males face. "There's more suffering ahead for those at the top." Whipping your head towards Midnight you unconsciously nodded your head. She was right. Making friends was fun and all, and being a pro definitely meant you'd have to get along with many other pros, but it's also very lonely at the top. Looking back at Midoriya caused you to feel even more anxious. Everyone's eyes were boring into him; you almost felt bad for him, almost.
After a few more minutes of intimidating stares Midnight began explaining the rules in detail, which again you were too nervous to listen to. "You've got fifteen minutes! Time to form your teams!" It was go time. Thinking of everyone who you had become close to you tried to find one person you could trust, someone you could go to. Looking over at Bakugou you saw almost everyone in class 1-A surrounding him trying to get on his team. "I don't even know what your stinking quirks are!!" Almost choking trying not to laugh you put your hand up to your mouth.
Bakugou turned to you and gave you a weird look. Not knowing what he was trying to say you nodded and went over to him. "Pretty Boy, you're on my team. I could use someone who's not 100% shitty at using their quirk." If you hadn't known Bakugou for a while you might have missed the small smirk that came and went as fast as his temper.
"That Todoroki's already wrangled up a team for himself!" Kirishima boomed from out of nowhere. Guiding your eyes past everyone you felt a weird tinge in your heart as you saw Kaminari standing near Todoroki. It felt like time had stopped when your eyes met. The blonde's eyes filled with many negative emotions that you had learned to read from hanging out with him for a while. Not wanting to feel that awful feeling that had almost crippled you you looked away and tried to forget that small moment.
By the time you had checked back into what Bakugou was doing he had already formed a team. You, Kirishima, Mina, and Bakugou, of course. Throughout the passing minutes you couldn't help but steal glances at the electric blonde. His posture was slouched and his regular glowing aura wasn't present. You honestly couldn't understand what this feeling in your chest was. You wanted to run up to him and pull him away from Todoroki. You wanted to bring him somewhere far away from here. You wanted to... Shaking your head you took a deep breath before the fifteen minutes ended. This wasn't the mindset that would bring you to victory; this would only bring destruction.
Inside your gut you started to hate this stupid festival. All it had done was bring out the worst of your feelings and your performance overall. This wasn't you, you weren't an emotional wreck... at least not all the time. "Hey..." Feeling a hot and rough hand grab your shoulder you turned around. Bakugou's eyes were slightly unreadable, but you could tell by his voice he was trying to be sincere and honest. "... it's a bad time to let your emotions get the better of you, Fuckface... so please just focus on the task at hand."
Nothing came out of your mouth. At the word "please" you felt your breath get stuck in your throat. People could say he was a heartless egotistical monster that only cared about himself, and they'd be half right, but that wasn't what you were seeing right now. Standing in front of you was someone who had just warmed your heart, and the rest of your body if you know what I mean. Your eyes flickered somewhere you wish they hadn't. His lips had sealed the deal. There was no going back to the same lonely NEET who held no attraction to anything from before.
Luckily Bakugou hadn't noticed the flicker of your eyes. Nodding at the soft eyed blonde signaled him to let go. And with that the fifteen minutes were up. "Formed your teams? Made your plans? Too bad if you haven't!! Here we go!! The countdown to this brutal battle royal." Feeling the lovely reassurance coming from Present Mic's voice made you sigh as you, Mina, and Kirishima lifted the now bandana wearing Bakugou into the air.
Your arm was right under his crotch which made you feel a mixture of odd feelings in your body you had never felt before, but as long as you didn't think about it it wouldn't come back to bite you in the butt, right? Probably not.
"Three!!" You seemed to be looking away from a lot of blondes today because right now you tried your hardest not to stare at the butt that was right in front of your face. It wasn't a bad butt, it was actually very nicely shaped. You just didn't want to be staring at something quite as distracting as someone's butt, or more Bakugou's butt. "Two!!" Swallowing any lasting saliva you awaited the signal to start. "One!!"
