I left Jones back to watch the horses where we crossed the river. Me and Dan moved up close
to where we started that ruckus night of the raid.
We crawled that two hundred or so yards.
Snuck up behind that gun. Me and Dan killed them
two good and quiet like. Crawled back with the gun and ammo think the box has two hundred
cartridges in it, what ever is hanging out it.
Did you see the size of that blame bullet?
Lan sakes wonder any one survives bein shot
by that thing! Not sure how it works tried to keep
from touching the two handles on it. Think the
trigger is that thing in the middle. Don't want ta
find out! Heavy got weigh forty pounds.

We didn't get them aroused in the least Jacob
in and out. No one gave chase, no sign of enemy
patrols. Strange my thinkin why aren't they patrolling like us? I mean I'd want ta know what
my enemy is doin. They haven't that we know
of left they lines. I'm worried on that one, could
be they moving out of uniform one or two just
wanderin across our lines takin information down.
Might scary thought ask me, don't even have ta
come in our camp just ride or walk inside our lines. Get what they need and leave. Lan sakes that
ain't good.

Jacob looked at Kit, shook his head why didn't I
think of that. Like you said the luck of us not getting into a skirmish with them is strange.
Think we would have signs of patrols at least.
Kit good thinking rum is on the bar get a touch,
and some rest report for normal duty tomorrow.
I'll see what the others think of your  thoughts.
Oh Jones and Dan same thing, take that with you
share with them. Not much of it left any way.

Ben something Kit just said, might be we need to
start really checking any travelers. Why what Kit
say? Think about it before you say any thing after
I tell you. Why haven't we run into any patrols
or sign of them. Far as we can tell they aren't patrolling at all. Wouldn't you want to know
what we are doing. Checking the lines and stuff.
Make sure we haven't strengthened any where.
Think about this we send out patrols we have camps spread out back to Talladega and Rockford.
Bama Army takes over at Rockford.

Ben thought a moment you think they are traveling like spies. Not really entering camps or
Posts. Gather info on what they see when and where we patrol. What we are doing. Why not
one or two people who would think, I don't think
I'd chance more than two. We would want to check
over them to much. Damn Jacob you think? I know I'm wondering. As am I Ben Kit brought something
to our attention, we never even thought about. We

Figured you'd be down sooner why I didn't yell earlier. Jacob how in the world he get that out
with out being caught! I don't think the stockade walls stop that! Looks heavy grabbing it, yep least
forty maybe fifty pounds. I wouldn't want to carry
it. Kit and which ever one helped did more than asked.

I understand believe me I do, I'll be out checking the gate guards, need some air. Well days training
is ending. I can smell the fires starting up, getting
ready for the evening. Strange how they feel more
tired after a day of class training than a day of field
training. Always go to the front gate lets do the rear for a change. Evening Shields you have duty
tonight or getting ready to go off duty? Jacob smiled knowing they were just starting, making conversation was all. On duty Cap have the first half tonight. Good always liked the first half.
Don't feel like you only got half a nights sleep all day after. Not woke half way through the night.
