Jacob paced where is Lawton's troop at? Louse
we can't wait much longer. Jacob we have till
morning lets not worry till then, they might of
had to get around a patrol or something.
Consider ourselves lucky we made it out without
loss of men, so far no sign of enemy activity.
The Raid went well, the supplies we needed we
have.

I can't help but worry Louse we aren't back yet.
Till we get back to the Pens we aren't finished.
If we did pull this off without any loss of life,
we were more than lucky. Yes Jacob we would
be you know as I, loss of life is a part of it.
Still early they may show this afternoon or evening. Wish we had word on Bill, how he faired
at sea against them. A minor victory would be nice.
Never met the man Sarna speaks highly of him.
If he is like you, Ben and Garret he's a good man.

Jacob, Captain Louse riders approaching. Looks
like Lawton's troop, short a few I'm thinking.
Damn you sure Tom? Yesum its them Jacob.

Louse said Jacob least fifteen short. I'll get some
rum looks like they need it. Do that Louse I don't
see Lawton. Jacob! Never thought we'd make it!
Lost a few Lawton included. My we need ta talk.
Kit you look tuckered, louse is getting something
to cut the dust with. Where is the rest of the troop?

Louse handed Kit the bottle, after a long drink
Jacob Cap Louse, Lawton died back at Columbia
so did four others. Those we lost right away.
Three more died few hours after, them I had ta
leave. We were being followed couldn't stop.

Kit that's only nine looks like you are missing
five more? Jacob Louse I'll get ta that taking another drink, Tom if Louse doesn't mind give the men some of this. Tom give the men some, Kit
what happened full report.

You won't believe me, you must now for its the
dang truth! They had a gun it could fire, if you
had ten men with pistols and they held the trigger
and fanned the hammer. How fast you think they'd
fire? What maybe those six in five six seconds.

Jacob said maybe ten so what's the point Kit?
Jacob they had a blame gun that fired maybe
six times that a minute even if it took ten seconds.
It made a noise like this barrrr rap rap. Shooting
flames out the muzzle must of been four feet.
red and green things bouncing around in the air.
I swear Jacob Lawton had three holes in him.
I could hear led busting by me, you know that crack noise it makes as it go past ya. Least ten
hit the ground around me one right after the other. We lost one carriage gun crew had ta leave
the gun, that was at Columbia, along with Cap Lawton. The other three we patched them up
best we could, at a farm twenty or so minutes
from Columbia. They died about hour so later,
All three had Least three shots in them.

The other five we had to fight them off, yesterday
about this time a day. May have lost five by gosh
we thumped them good, not one of them walked
away. Thirty them bastards deader than all get
out. Jacob looked at Kit you sure about the gun?
See knew you wouldn't believe me! That gun spit more led than anything I've ever seen!
Louse said we believe you just double checking.
Kit you and your troop get some food down you
and a little sleep. Good report on what happened.
That be all. Yesum Cap Louse um Jacob bye your leave Sir.

Jacob looked a Louse sounds like a Martin gun.
I don't know what the red and green things were.
No Jacob Martin only fires four hundred a minute,
besides think Kit would know what a Martin sounds like. Think they ran up against a machine
gun if not a mini gun. Louse what in hell are they?

Well a mini gun works like our Martin it has six barrels instead of eight, fires off lectricty that spins
the barrels and fires it. They fire about thousand and over a minute. Machine gun about six hundred a minute. They fire from the gas from the bullet or the recoil. The machine gun can be fired
by a man holding it, a heavy machine gun needs a tripod. Jacob shuttered damn we maybe in trouble,
why haven't we heard about them before now?
Think they would of used them right away.
