Carolina First Cav. stuck in crossfire, the left trench works breached. Two Detachments of the First attacking on the left and right. The Republic seems to have the upper- hand. Silence at Arthurtown Part 2.

Terrence finally felt like he had control of the situation, his men returning fire covering fire for the Sargent moving in on one of those damn machine guns. Still trapped but, not feeling hopeless, that's it, boys! We'll a die fightin not laying down like dead-men! They've stopped firin!
Fellas! Keep an eye out, theys a must be comin! Colonel they a comin from behind those oddities!

Terrence glanced all around him Damn, they're a comin from all sides! Stupid move Terrence just plum dumb, young Lieutenant move. Did what needed doing. Pistols and Sabers! Don't fire, till they get closer! Colonel, they gots a white flag! Yes!
I see it Trooper! Boys, I think we scared them! They wants ta stop! Fellas, thinking we best hear they terms. Looking around at his detachment. Sorry DJ no disrespect intended. She smiled knew what you meant Colonel, none taken. Thinking I've ten Troopers, I've killed over three hundred of my own, Colonel Tad Terrence, your terms Sir?

Colonel, you say, I'm Captain Boyd, no terms, you just drop those weapons. Can't guarantee you'll live much longer than making it to the rear. Had to talk to you all, just outright ballsy to do what you did! Damn gutsy move! Captain the rules of War state. You must treat us as prisoners. Don't know of any such rule, never heard of one. I am sorry, that is left up to my Command.

Terrence nodded, Troopers I am sorry, I regret doing this. Stack- arms, Captain we are retiring,
handing over his Saber. Separate that Female, she has red hair. Command will want to talk to her.
Terrence shouted no she stays with us! Or I must go with her! Keep them together, least till we get to a higher ranking officer. Thank you, Captain, form two ranks, we shall leave the field like soldiers.

Colonel, why did you make that charge? Hell running between two lines, I'd never try that. Captain, it seems like a young shave-tail move, it did what I wanted. Kept Y'all busy for some time.
In hindsight, yes it was very stupid. I lost a lot of troops today. I only regret not makin it further.

What of the group I sent to dispatch that gun? Sir,
I'm sorry, they fought like madmen, dead Sir. Terrence knew it, blast that Sargent knew him a long time. Troopers we are near the rear look like
Soldiers now!

                                        Carolina
                                   Trench Works

Mac couldn't make moves fast enough. To be a Regiment how are they overpowering us? General!
General, our front Sir! Mac turned front? Yes, Sir check the other side! Pushing past him, into the room, damn! How in hell, has to be a Corp! Where,
wherein hell they come from? Two frontal attacks!
Inform General Carson, tell Colonel Bird he has command of our Front! Sending a runner now Sir.

Any word from Phillips? No Sir nothing. Get a runner, tell Phillips we are being attacked front and rear. Tell him I said withdraw! Rally with the Army. Yes, Sir right away Sir! Damn, make way I need in this room! Shit, the left is folding! Signal the left is gone from Battery E north! Make a blocking move! Keep the hall open between these rooms! Sir, General Carson signaled out of canister shot. Will use chain, high explosive. Sir, did you hear me? Yes, I heard. Pull all the medium to light cannon from Battery D south, First mounted infantry and Second Cav. to support them. Send them to rally with The Army of Carolina. Burn our maps anything that gives away our plans! We fight till our last breathe!

                                 Republics Rear

Terrence looked out at the Field, Captain you think it bothers me watching this? No just wanted you to see how a real Army works. Look some of your own are running. Terrence smiled, or they are going to flank you. Thinking long as I keep you leaning towards my side, you'll speak for my troops. Captain your men didn't do a good job searching. You like a touch of Corn Licker? Colonel if you are offering, yes. Terrence took a good pull, handed it to the Captain. Takin a while least an hour, we still haven't quit now, have we? Look, Colonel, think it's about over.

The right and left rear kept folding in, the front center falling back, the farmhouse burning the sun dropping westward. Terrence detached from it, felt like he was watching a play like he saw in Charles Towne. The bangs, booms, cracks stopped.
A massive combined wall of soldiers in a twisted contorted dance of death. He could just hear the screams yells faintly. Thinking kill as many you can fellers. Less ta worry about later. Git, um, Mac!

What was that Sir? Nothin Captain talkin ta myself

What was that Sir? Nothin Captain talkin ta myself.
Captain my bottle back, ifin ya don't mind. Colonel might as well finish it, won't be long, you'll be taken away. I'll tell you now, good luck to you and those with you. Cap good luck ta ya also, takin a good pull, handing it to DJ here Y'all finish it. Terrence watched as it ended a few Carolinians still stood. Those few started falling then he heard the bangs. Killin surrendering men! Captain! What
Foul play is this? Colonel, I told you we have no such rule. Command makes those decisions.

Captain, I see you have a few detained. Yes, Major,
Colonel Terrence Sir, First Carolina Cavalry. A Colonel, well and a redhead too. Fine job Captain.
Command just may promote you for this, Colonel Terrence, Major Durn Republic Intelligence. Soon as transportation arrives. You and the redhead will be leaving. Captain kill the rest. Sir, I'll not do that!
I won't shoot unarmed soldiers. Captain! Do as you are told, I just said a good chance at promotion, they're only cowards. Kill them, you have a chance at entitlement!  DJ broke the bottle, I'll gut you, Major! Laugh while I'm a doing it! You'll not kill them! Terrence shouted DJ put it down! Major take us all or you'll not have any to take back, we'll just charge at you die like our friends did.

Major we may get more information from all of them, think about it. One may break, the others may not.

Captain, good thinking, you may still get that promotion. Colonel, you have your way. In less than a half hour, you'll be headed to Intelligence
Head Quarters. The Redhead comes with me. Terrence said no she stays with us, I'll not have anyone alone with her. My Troops won't be segregated. If you're worried we might do things,
well I won't she has my protection. No, I'm worried she'll kill every last one of ya before ya could stop her. She stays with us. I'll bend some, she stays with you till HQ, then it's my superiors decision.
Terrence nodded that a do.

Terrence watched as they moved back to keep a better eye on them, whispering DJ they may think you are Sarna, listen don't try and play it off that way. They said they would impale her, for all to see. Play our cards right we all might live, to escape. No jabbering stay quiet and don't give them anything when questioned. Several hushed yeses.

                                   Mitch at  Gaston

Damn what day we on, leap day plus four or is it five? Damn Mitch, you're tired but, think, think man. Five day five, Sarna should be about Barnwell I'll try and catch them about Allendale.
I'm so blame tired, been up near a day. Rest some this small clump trees ado, good windbreak plus concealment. Yup rest some Mitch, chewing on jerky. He fashioned a pillow out of his saddlebag.
If I sleep too long I'll just ride harder.

This concludes Silence at Arthurtown. Things aren't going well for The Army of Carolina. Did the Artillery make it out, what of Phillips group? Terrence, was he right to surrender? Do they think DJ is Sarna? Thanks for reading vote comment if you please.
