Saturday came faster than I expected it to and I've been looking a mess all week. Maintaining my own hair is such a hassle, so after the first two days of a braid out, it went into buns, puffs, and ponytails.

I was not a fan of having my hair down because of the simple fact that it gets hot as hell in Houston so I try to keep it up and out of my face as much as possible.

It was 11 which meant that I had time to spare before going to Nicki's house warming party. By time to spare I meant time to do my chores.

If I wanted to go somewhere on the weekends then it was my job to clean every room in the house.

As I finally got out of bed I noticed there was a sticky note hanging on my dresser, I unsteadily got up from my bed still drowsy from my slumber.

The note was from my brother.

Muffin, I just wanted to let you know that I love you and I promise everything will be ok. Call KJ when you're ready 713-444-2470.

I smiled at the nickname he left for me, he used to call me that all the time when I was younger because of my love for muffins.

I eventually grew out of the nickname but the instant memory of why I received such a name left me nostalgic, I miss being young and without responsibility. However, I do not miss that period of my life.

My childhood was barely a childhood, I unfortunately got caught in the mix of a nasty divorce and the weakest point in my immediate family's history.

But that's a story for another day.

I dragged my body to the bathroom where I got ready to start my day. I took out my speaker and played my cleaning playlist.

It was around 3 o'clock when I finally finished doing my chores, I was tired as hell.

I went to the kitchen to make a snack and then I'll take a 30 minute nap... maybe.

When I woke back up at 4 I hurried to take another quick shower mainly to wash my face and wet my hair a bit.

When I got out I began to run curling cream through my hair as well as gel to make my curls stay. I noticed that when my hair dries up, the difference between my roots and ends weren't too noticeable.

When I was finally done with my hair it was nearing 5 o'clock and I realized that time was slipping from me.

I added light make up to my face to achieve the "no make up" make up look.

I grabbed a cotton T-shirt to absorb the water from my hair so that it could dry faster.

As I was doing that my phone started ringing, it was Onika.

"Wassup?" I greeted.

"We pushed the party back an hour but do you think you can come at the same time to help my mom and I out?" She asked. Girl sounded like she was panicking.

"Alright I'll come over as soon as I'm done getting ready."

"Ohmyfuckinggoodness, you're a life saver. Loveyouthanksbye," she said all in one breath.

The phone hung up and I just stared at it in disbelief. No one should ever be able to talk that fast.

I tried to get dressed as fast as possible. I put on my ripped jeans, a long sleeve champion shirt, and checkered navy blue vans.

My outfit was so cute I had to take a picture and my highlight was poppin.

After I was done modeling for myself I called KJ to get him to come and pick me up and he came to get me in less than 10 minutes. Onika only lived 5 minutes away but my brother insisted on me not walking anywhere.
