Lost But Not Forgotten

CHAPTER 2

This Had To Happen.

Destiny's P.O.V

Everybody looked at me curiously because of my reaction.

"Destiny, you ok?" Patty asked. I couldn't say anything. I was frozen. Katey snatched my phone from me and almost fainted.

"What the hell!! .....Is this really Maxwell Cooper's number??.....Did he store it while you were looking for your phone???" She asked.

"I don't know... what the hell.... oh my goshhh!! This is unbelievable!" I shouted. The boys were blindfolded, they didnt know what we were talking about so Gabe took the phone from Katey and then realised what we were talking about.

"Omg!" That's all Patty could say.

While everyone was still in shock our food arrived. That's when i realised how hungry i was. Finally, everybody came back to life and we ate our food. While eating Katey spoke.

"You should call him sometime you know. And now i get how he might have given his number. He might have seen your picture in the front page .. known your pretty and dialled his number in..."

" You know sometimes i feel like slapping you hard. How the hell would he get the password right?" Patty asked.

" Ummm....Duh.... Destiny didn't put lock because she thinks everybody is nice in this world and won't steal her phone" Katey replied annoyed at me.

" Guys, can we leave this topic alone. Let's eat in peace and go back to our houses in peace" I said.

"Okay. But tell us when he called" Gabe said.

We ate the rest of our food in just small talks and decided to head home. Katey had a date with Josh in the afternoon so she wanted to get home early to get dressed. After reaching home she took off with her car.

I felt really tired so i went inside and dropped on my couch lazily.

I woke up late night at around 10 pm. Went to get changed and made dinner for myself. Sometime later after  having dinner, i went to watch T.V. Going on to see my favourite series "Riverdale" i heard my phone ringing in the kitchen. I got up a little annoyed at that person because of my series.

I looked up to see who it was and found that it was Maxwell...... I was so shocked that i missed the first call and then he called again.This time i picked up.

"Hello." I heard a harmonious voice say. It sent chills up my spine.

"Hey" I managed to say.

"Did i disturb you?"

"No..i was not busy"

"That's great. So you have time to talk then "

"I guess"

We talked about a couple of things casually and then since it got late we decided to hang up. I was so surprised at his call but found out that he was just an ordinary guy that sings songs that are awesome. I turned the T.V off and went to my bedroom, looking at the clock it was 1:30 am. So i decided to sleep because work was in the morning, when Troublemaker came out of no where.

"Girl, he likes ya"

"No, Trouble. Shut up."

"You can't deny the truth"

"Aaaaggghhh.... Go to sleep."

"Okay....goodnight... keep dreaming about him"

The next morning, i did my normal morning routine and made my way to work. At work, i had several files to complete so i spent half my day doing the files. I missed lunch break because i was so busy. At around 2:30 pm, Jade called me.

"Hey, Destiny!"

"Hey, girl. Whats up?"

"Nothing much. Just wondering if you free for lunch...but i guess you've already had lunch"

"Nope. I was busy with some work so i wasn't able to have lunch"

"That's great. Meet me at the Stoner's Eat Out..Ill be there in 10 minutes"

"Okay.. don't worry i'm coming"

So i had plans for lunch great. At least i'm not having lunch alone. Jade is one of the great people i know. I met her here in New Zealand and since then we are friends. She works at the hospital a few blocks from the bank, so we frequently meet up.

I pack my bag and sign out for lunch. Stoner's Eat Out was just in front of the hospital, so i decided to have a walk down to it. Looking around i realised that i needed to go for shopping, but only if i had time.

I finally arrived. Getting inside i see that even though the lunch hour was over, it was full. Glancing around the corner i find a great spot left, beside the window fortunately. I hurry over and take a seat waiting for Jade.

After a few minutes she arrives. We have casual talk and then we dig up on our lunch. Out of no where i hear my phone buzzing. I look to find it is Max. I thought not pick up but since my fate is so bad i just picked up.

"Hi, beautiful"

"Hey"

"Did i disturb you?"

"Well.... i was having lunch...."

"Ooops, sorry. Ill call later"

"I want to say we can talk now, but sorry i'm having lunch"

"Its okay, Ill call in the afternoon. Bye"

"Bye"

I look up and see Jade staring at me.

"So what was that all about?" She asked. I then realised that she didn't know about how Maxwell talked to me. So i decided o tell her the whole story.

"OMG!...Thats so awesome!"

"Yeah.. i guess". Finishing off with our lunch we headed back to work.

That afternoon i reached home at around 5:30 pm. I did some chores and was about to make dinner when Nora called me.

"Hey, Destiny. Um mm.... Patty, Gabe and i are coming over. Don't worry we are bringing take a ways. Cause Kate is going on a date with Josh again so we thought why not crash at your place"

"That's cool. Ill be waiting" She hung up and i smiled.

Several minutes later, they came. They brought take a ways from KFC. We took our share and sat in my living room. Its been quite a while since all of us were together.

"So what are we going to watch today?" Asked Patty.

"Patty, stop acting like a teenager. We are adults now. Gosh, we have jobs and you are still being a baby" Nora said annoyed. They usually fight and end up not talking to each other.

"It's okay,Nora. His just being himself. Let's watch a scary movie. How about The Nun?" I asked smirking.

"That shouldn't be that bad should it?" Gabe asked.

"Nah, that will be not okay" I replied laughing. After we ate our food i switched on the movie.

All four of us cuddled up in the long couch with a blanket and a bucket of popcorn, even though everyone was full.
