Jungkook grits his teeth and balls his hands into a fist. Your mother has been in the house for only five minutes and is already getting on his last nerves. She was always nice to him when they were neighbors. Now she looks as if she hates his guts.
She clears her throat and fix the coat buttons. Jungkook leans against the kitchen counter and just eyes her. She looks way different from the smiling house wife she used to be.
Maybe it was Joshua's death but obviously something changed. Jungkook observes the female in front of him.
"It's impolite to stare at someone for so long Mr. Jeon" she speaks out. Jungkook scoffs and rolls his eyes.
"It's rude to show up at someone's house unannounced and back into someone's life when you've been basically gone for most of it"
Your mother's eyes widened then narrow towards to the boy dressed in black. She simply shakes her head and brushes off the piece of lint on her skirt.
"Mr.Jeon I don't think you should treat an elder that way; it's—"
"But you're not an elder" he cuts her off. He walks over to her and they're now face to face.
"You're the mother of my soon-to-be wife. You're the mother of the beautiful woman that I'm ready to start a life with" he sighs.
"Hell you're the brave woman I know that walked through a snow storm just to send me some soup when I got ill when my parents couldn't take care of me"
Your mother bites her lip and can't even look him in his eyes anymore. She hated the fact that Jungkook grew up into a man. A decent one too.
But she still had doubts. Still thought that your relationships would end up like her own failures. That was the last thing she wanted for you. To suffer the way she did during her marriage life.
"What's the real reason why you're here?" He question. She sighs and lifts her hand up.
"Because of this...."
Jungkook's eyes widened. The glistening rock placed on her ring finger shining right in front of his eyes. He's dumbfounded that he didn't notice it before hand.
