~timeskip to the first day of junior year~
~Connor's 16, Evan's almost 16, Jared's 15~

Connor POV

Evan and I recently made it official to my parents that we are dating. Yes, we're still going strong.

My dad seemed irritated. He probably wasn't even listening to us, anyway. He cleared his throat four times and sighed seven times during the conversation. I know because I counted.

My mom was cool. In fact, she was elated. She got up from her dated chair and hugged me, then hugged Evan. She cupped my face and said, "I love you, Connor." I guess her reaction makes up for my dad's reaction. Or lack of one, as it were.

Zoe just said, "This is news to you guys?" to mom and dad.

So that was fun.

Evan POV

Jared and his family are on vacation for two whole weeks. At the beginning of the school year. He's absent a lot anyway. Now Connor and I can hang out without his teasing us or chewing really loudly.

Actually, it's kind of quiet without him here. Meh.

We were sitting in the hallway after finishing our lunches because some kids were playing Gucci Gang in the cafeteria. My head was on his shoulder and we were watching vines on his phone. That's true love right there.

A girl came up to us and said, "Awwwwwwwww! You're so cute!!"

I giggled and then Zoe walked up behind her and started talking to her. She waved and left.

Connor said, "That's Zoe's friend, Alana. She thinks you're cute." He chuckled.

"I think she was talking to both of us watching our vines." I looked at the video. "This is my favorite one!" I quoted it and Connor did too.

"Road work ahead?? uH yeAh I sure hOpE it dOes!"

We fell into a fit of laughter and we kept laughing until the end of lunch.

"I still think she was calling you cute." He put his hand up jokingly like he was fake-offended. "I can't even."
