We reach the hospital, and I slowly get out of the car. I can't believe that yesterday I was happy here because I was visiting my father. Now, I don't even know if they are going to let me see him after this visit. We walk towards my father’s room, and I hesitated to open the door.

"Remember what I told you," Mr. Miller whispers to me. I just nod before slowly opening the door. My eyes travel to my dad who is in his bed, sitting up while trying to eat. Mr. Miller clears his throat to get my father’s attention.

"Zero... Who is he?" My father asks with a worried look on his face.

"Dad,” I pause, ”we need to talk." I begin to walk closer to the side of my father's bed.

"Yes, sweetie, what is going on?" I fight back my tears when he called me 'sweetie'. He has always called me that since I was little, and it always makes me feel secure.

"Dad... I-I'm moving o-out of the h-house..." I slowly said, trying hard not to tell him the truth.

"What? Why? Is this because of the rent? Where are you going?" My dad starts asking questions, and I can feel all his worry in his voice.

"Dad, no. It's not about the rent. I-I'm moving with my b-boyfriend. H-he proposed to me, and-after that-we t-talked about your needs, and h-he decided to help us."

"Proposed ? Wait is he your boyfriend!?" My father’s eyes went wide.

"No! no! He’s my boyfr-- fiance's father," I simply explain while looking at Mr. Miller who’s smiling. If only my father knew that his smile was fake, then maybe things would be different.

"Nice to meet you. Your son has talked a lot about you, sir," Mr. Miller greets as he shakes his hand with my father's.

"Nice to meet you too! Just call me Frank." My dad smiles at Mr. Miller.

"Okay then, Frank,  you can call me Martin. Now, your son talked with me about your situation and my son and I want to help."

"Yes, dad, my boyfriend has already paid for everything that you will need: your medicine and even your surgery. So, we only have to wait until the doctor tell us the date," I say while trying to focus on the positive things.

"But how am I going to pay you? We don't have a lot of money as you can see," My father tells Mr. Miller.

"You don't have to worry about it. We are going to be a family soon, and family is meant to help each other out," Mr. Miller says. For a moment, I thought Mr Miller was actually a good person, but all the memories from this morning told me otherwise.

"Thank you so much, Martin! And I trust my son with yours. I won't hesitate to kill him if he dare to hurt my son," My dad half-jokes.

"Hahaha, don't worry he is in good hands," Mr. Miller says while looking at me with a smirk that went unnoticed.

We stayed with my father for a little longer. I had expected to leave earlier, but I'm not complaining. I love spending time with my dad. Who knows when will I be able to see him again?

"Well, I think is fine for us to leave. Zero will be staying with my son from now on. It was nice meeting you," Mr. Miller says while walking toward the door.

"Goodbye, papa. I will visit you when everything is settled. Please call me when you are finished talking with the doctor. I want to know when  the surgery is going to be, okay?" I tell him with sad eyes, hating the fact of leaving him.

"Yes, sweetie, I will. Now, go to your future husband. I want to meet him when I'm out of the hospital," he winks at me and laughing.I start walking toward the door next to Mr. Miller, and-before walking out-I blow a kiss at my dad.

"Okay, now, let's go, and meet my son," Mr. Miller says once we are in the car.

"Y-yes s-sir," I reply, feeling uneasy about what is going to happen.

I close my eyes as I say goodbye to my dreams of having a happy family. I just hope his son will treat me better than his father.I feel the car starting moving. Here we go toward my new life.
