Chapter Fifty Four

~Rapunzel~

I went inside the infirmary and sat beside Jack who was still unconscious but North said that he's safe from danger now and he'll wake up soon.

I brushed his snow white hair with my fingers and hummed the song from my 19th birthday...

I stared at him for a while and I remembered the time that I got sick and he took care of me...

~Flash Back~

"Look at the sky Jack!"

Jack walked towards me and looked up the sky..

"That cloud looks like a...."

"Heart." he said...I looked at him and at the same time he turned to me and smiled..

I blinked several times and bit my lower lip...I can't let him see me blush...No way!

I looked out the window again and enjoyed the cool breeze, it's winter here...

Something itched my nose that I sneezed...then followed by a sniff...I think I just caught a cold.

Jack looked at me worried "You okay? Are you sick?"

I shook my head "Nah....It's nothing..something just itched my nose."

Jack frowned as if he wasn't convinced but he nodded anyway...

We played around the tower when my head started to ache...

I sat on a chair for a while and rubbed my temples...

Jack must've noticed that he walked towards me and touched my forhead...

His eyes widened "Punzie! You're burning!"

"What? I'm still whole see...I'm not burnt." I said trying to make it into a joke...Of course I knew what he meant..I just don't want him to worry.

"No..I mean you have a HIGH fever! Come on! I'll give you your medicine." he said and he led me towards the kitchen.

He took good care of me...Gothel was out to buy food and supplies that time so Jack did all the work for me and made sure I'm okay.

~End Of Flash Back~

I smiled at the memory...

I was 13 at that time...

he sure cared for me...

Suddenly, Jack's hand twitched and his eyes slowly opened...

He looked around and then looked at me...

"Hey." I greeted...

He smiled "Hey."

"Feeling better?" I asked and he simply nodded...

He sat up and groaned as he held his head...

"Whoa...Slow down...you don't have to get up yet...you need some rest." I said

He shook his head "No need Punz...I can handle it."

"But you're still weak and Noth said tha-"

"I said I can handle it." he snapped...I took a step back at his tone...

"Sorry." he said...but it's not sincere...this isn't Jack at all..

But then, I just nodded...I can't just jump into conclusions...I'll just observe him and his actions...Who knows what Gothel did to him...She's Unpredictable.

"How about I get you something to eat." I suggested

He looked at me and nodded...

So I went out and grabbed a tray of sandwiches.

I went back and handed him his food...

He examined the sandwich and ate it slowly...WEIRD! He usually gabbles up the food I give him...I still need to observe him further...

After  that, Anna came in and suggested that we'll have a snowball fight...

I didn't agree at first because Jack's still weak but Jack nodded "Sounds Fun."

"Well duh! It is fun...you love to play snowball fights." Anna said...

"Oh yeah..yeah...Of course." Jack stuttered...Hmmmm...

"Come on!" Anna said and pulled the both of us out of the room...

"You sure you're okay already?" I asked jack as he put on his brown cloak...

He nodded and went out...

He usually gives me an assurance when I'm in doubt.
