Chapter Twenty

~Rapunzel~

Anna ran towards me and led me to the center.

I got quite shy since I hadn't changed my dress.

Elsa came over to me and with a wave of her hand...she changed my clothes into a light blue gown with long sleeves and a shiny blue earings.

I smiled at her as she winked.

Anna led me to a table with stargazers in a vase...It's my favorite flower.

I smiled at Anna before I sat down.

"You're the princess tonight." she whispered which made me chuckle.

The servants started serving the food...the guests were the people of Arendelle.

The children gave me flowers and gifts.

"You're so beautiful." a girl said as she handed me a flower.

I smiled "You are too." I said.

Then Anna announced that I'll have to dance with the people.

I agreed anyway I love to dance.

Robert,one of the servants,led me to the center and he danced with me.

A lot of boys took turns in dancing with me.

I didn't mind...I had fun.

Then...it was Jack's turn.

"May I have this dance?" he asked formally.

He wore a suit with a white rose in his pocket.

I smiled and nodded.

We started dancing as the music started...it was a slow dance.

I just concentrated on my dancing...for some reason I can't even look at him.

"You remind me of someone." he whispered as he twirled me around.

"Who is that someone?"I asked.

"She was my friend...she was my special friend...before I met Elsa."He answered.

"Hmm...what's her name?" I asked this time looking at him.

"She has the same name as you." he answered.

"Oh really?...what happened?" I asked again.

"I left her...because I have to do something important...I wanted to tell her but then...I really needed to go." he answered...I just kept silent and listened.

"I was gone for two years...One night I decided to go back and visit her since I'm finished with my duty...but then...she wasn't there...the only thing left there was darkness." he continued.

I looked at him and saw a tear roll down his cheek but then he wiped it away quickly.

"I never saw her again...and if I even see her again...maybe she forgot about me." he said in a low voice.

You rest inside my mind

Since the day you came

I knew you would be with me

All the time we spent

What we shared was surely

warm enough to know you cared for me

I felt guilt...he never forgot about me...

All this time...he never did.

"Jack I-" I wasn't able to finish since he's time was up...

It was Flynn's turn to dance with me...

I watched as Jack walk towards Elsa.

Light floods through memories

Helps me walk my path

I'll keep my head up high

Words and faith and love

Your strength gives me hope

Someday I'll find you with open arms

The music hit me hard...I wanted to cry...

No...keep it together...just be happy...it's your birthday.

After a few moments, Flynn knelt down on the floor.

"Rapunzel....Tonight I give you this as a sign of my love for you." Flynn said as he showed me a red little box...he opened it and showed a shiny diamond ring.

What shall I say???

"Happy Birthday and I love you." Flynn added.

I took a deep breath... "I...love you too." I said.

Flynn immediately stood up and slipped the ring through my finger and embraced me.

The room was filled with cheers and happiness...well...except for me.

I saw Jack walk away...out of the room...
