Chapter Sixteen

~Jack~

I was walking around the quiet halls when I saw Rapunzel walking looking at the floor...

Looks like she's thinking about something.

"Uhm...Rapunzel?" I called out and she immediately looked at me.

"Oh...uh...Hi Jack." she said blinking several times.

I smiled a little and walked closer to her.

"Can we talk?" I asked.

"Uhm...we are talking." she said raising an eyebrow.

"No I mean...in private? I wanted to ask you something." I said.

She still raised her eyebrow and then shrugged "Okay."

I looked around the area and thought about the balcony.

"Follow me."I said as I led the way towards the balcony.

When we arrive there, I faced her.

"So uh...you were lost for 17 years....Where were you and what happened to you?" I asked.

Of course I know she was in a tower but I really wanna know if she really doesn't know me.

And I wanna know what happened to her when I was gone.

"So uh...you were lost for 17 years...Where were you and what happened to you?" Jack asked once we got here at the balcony.

It kinda hurt when he asked that...so....he really forgot about me...Okay..I have an answer to that.

"Oh..I was in a tower with this...woman with black curly hair and my pet chamelion named Pascal...That's all I remember." I answered.

"What do you mean...that's all you remember?" Jack asked raising an eyebrow.

"I had an accident when I was in the castle...My mom,the queen...said that I was walking down the stairs when I slipped and fell...my head hit the floor hard and she also said blood seeped out and the doctor said I have an amnesia...meaning...I can't remember my past." I lied.

I never had an accident...I'm just pretending.

I want him to feel what I felt...to be forgotten...and having an amnesia is the perfect excuse.

I looked at him and saw him staring at me in disbelief.

"My mom asked me a lot of questions about my past in hope that I can still remember...but...I can't." I added.

"Oh...that's...tragic...I'm glad you're alright." Jack said looking down.

I nodded "Yeah me too."

There was silence

"So uh...I better go...it's getting late." i said breaking the silence.

"Okay sure...Goodnight Rapunzel." Jack said before I walked away.

"Goodnight Jack." I mumbled.

It's just like the old times...saying goodnight to each other before going to bed...but this time...I can't say it to him.

I walked to my room and laid on my bed.

Did I do the right thing?
