Nicole and I were so much closer back when we used to work together. We still kept in touch, but my working for Luke does make it a bit harder for us to see each other. Nicole was stunningly beautiful and I couldn't help but grind my teeth when I watched her flirt with Jared.

She was confident, sassy, and a little on the spoiled side. Her parents had given her anything and everything she wanted as a child and unlike my parents, they had a lot of money. It was obvious that she was daddy's little girl, but once she graduated, her father insisted that if he were to buy her a car and pay her bills, she must maintain a job. She started working at her parents' hotel right after I was hired, but she wasn't nearly as driven or motivated as I was to move up in the company. My goal was to possibly run that place one day, but Nicole had been  happy with just working the front desk. The less responsibility on her part, the better. In fact, the night she called in, just so happened to be the night that Luke checked in. She blew off work for a night out with Billy Campbell. Being the assistant manager, I was called in when no one was available to cover the front desk. It had been a busy night and Luke was thoroughly impressed with my ability to do so many things at once. He was flirty at first, and I was definitely crushing on him. The flirting stopped the instant he offered me a job as his personal assistant.

I told him that I would think about it and get back to him, but seriously, there was no way that I was turning that job down. I called him the next day and accepted his offer. Just like that, I put my notice in at the hotel and moved to Calabasas. Nicole was upset with me, but has since gotten over it and she continues to flirt with Luke every chance she gets.

Nicole shook Jared's hand and smiled big as he answered her. "Of course you are."

"You only get hotter the older you get! Wow, Jen, I'm so jealous of you. How can you perform your job duties with this hottie so close?" She laid it on thick as her eyes moved up and down his lean body. I could practically see her salivating from where I stood.

He grinned at the compliment, but turned and walked to the door. "Well ladies, I guess I'll be getting back to my room. I need to unwind a bit. Jen, I'll be seeing you later. Nicole, the pleasure was all mine."

When the door closed, she spun around on her six inch heels and put her hands on her hips. "You bitch! You didn't tell me that he was staying at the same fucking hotel! I saw the way he was clinging to your body coming through that door! You know I'm going to ask, how many times have you fucked him?" She raises an eyebrow as she grilled me for information.

I shook my head and frowned. "I have no idea what you are talking about." I stepped around her, changing the subject. "How was your flight?"

"Ugh! Jennifer Evans, I've known you long enough to know that once wasn't enough for you. I know you, "hate him," but obviously you don't anymore. So what's the deal? Are you two serious?" She sat on the bed and checked her makeup, as if it wasn't already perfect. I've never seen Nicole not look perfect. From her flawless manicured nails, all the way down to her expensive shoes, Nicole was like a fashion model. She looked like a Barbie doll with her long blonde hair and big blue eyes.

"No, it's not serious and it only started a week ago, but Nic... I really do like him a lot." I confided and she smiled, placing her hand on top of mine. "We've been spending some time together and I have to admit, I was wrong about him."

"Awwww sweety, he is sexy as hell, but so is Luke. Speaking of, where is that handsome devil?" She asked, straightening her short skirt and matching crop top. It was no secret that Nicole wanted to get her hands and other body parts all over my boss, but I wasn't sure he felt the same.

"In his room, I suppose. Let me change so I can take you out to dinner."

I picked up my clothes and walked into the bathroom to change. She was gone when I came out and I opened the door to see her outside flirting with Luke. Turning around to see me standing there, she smiled. "He text your phone and I responded by asking him to come here. I hope you don't mind, but I couldn't help myself.

Luke looked like he was going to kill me for not telling him that she was here. He's told me on a few occasions that she comes on a little too strong. "It's fine, would you like to join us for dinner Luke?" I knew he was going to kill me later, but I asked anyway.

"Sure." His dimples were showing, but I could see the daggers he was shooting me. Dinner was awkward, as Nicole endlessly flirted with Luke, who for the most part, stayed quiet. He let her know that he wasn't interested and was meeting up with someone else after dinner. He gave me the death look in the car on the way back, and unleashed on me in the elevator when Nicole went to the front desk to check if her luggage had arrived. There was a mixup at the airport earlier and they promised to have her bags brought directly to the hotel.
"You know I can't stand her. She is so conceited and bitchy, I just cannot possibly go on a date with her. Please, if ever she is around again, let me know in advance."

"I'm sorry." I couldn't help but laugh. "I didn't know she'd be here today. She was a day early to surprise me." He walked me to my room and I laughed watching him dart down the hallway to his own. When, an hour passed and she still hasn't come up to my room, I went looking for her. She and Jared were standing at the end of the hallway, deep in conversation.
