"Where the hell are those boys?" Rachel wondered aloud as she glanced at the class door.

Hermione and herself were sat in their final divination class before they broke up for the Christmas holidays. Rachel watched the door intently, hoping Harry and Ron would hurry up to class.

"Who knows?" Hermione sighed looking at her hand and then the textbook. The class were studying palm reading and even though Hermione showed no real love of the subject, she still tried her best. Rachel on the other hand did not care at all.

Rachel never really listened at all, this is why she wanted her brother and best friend to hurry up. The three usually messed around whilst others tried to get on with the work set. With the three of them together, the class was more fun for them all.

"Well they need to hurry up because I'm bored as fu-" Rachel groaned but the boys soon scampered into class, looking rather disgruntled.

"So now you decide to show up to class? 20 minutes late!" Hermione gasped.

"It's not like Trewlaney noticed anyway." Ron mumbled sliding into his seat and pulling out his textbook.

"Exactly, but where were you?" Rachel chuckled watching Harry rub the sleep from his eyes.

"Got up late." Harry mumbled setting his head on the desk.

"Is this going to be a sleeping lesson, not a messing around one?" Rachel wondered aloud looking at the two boys.

"Sleeping lesson." They both replied.

"Perfect." Rachel smiled and put her head on her book and closed her eyes, the lack of sleep from earlier really hitting her.

She must have dozed off because she felt Harry nudge her violently, she flipped her head up and saw the professor floating over to their table. Rachel quickly grabbed her book and pretended to be studying it, not trying to keep her eyes open.

"How are you doing dears?" Trewlaney dawdled, her glasses that resembled magnifying glasses making her eyes look huge.

"Splendid." Rachel smiled sarcastically. Trelawney gave a happy little nod making Rachel roll her eyes to Harry and Ron.

"May I have a go?" Hermione asked, using her eyes to signal at her palm.

"Of course my dear!" Trewlaney excitedly gasped.

"The grim. Possibly." Hermione said sternly, causing Rachel to glance at her. Of course Hermione's palm did not show the grim but she did not know that.

"You know, my dear, the moment I looked into your eyes I knew that you did not have the mind for the noble art of Divination. See? Right here." Trewlaney clasped her hand over Hermione's, shaking her head in pity. "You may be young in years but the heart that beats beneath your bosom is as shriveled as an old maid's, your soul as dry as the pages of the books to which you so desperately cleave."

Hermione scoffed clearly upset and stormed angrily out of the classroom, knocking a crystal ball off the table.

"Was it something I said?" The professor wondered aloud looking weirdly at where Hermione had been sat.

"Do you reckon I should go after her? This old bat isn't going to notice." Rachel said to the boys.

"Not bloody likely, just leave her she'll be fine." Ron half laughed, Rachel shot him a faint glare.

"I don't know, maybe it will be good to let her have some time to herself." Harry replied looking over at the door, watching the crystal ball roll away.

"Well I don't listen to anybody really so I'm going." Rachel stood up. "Anyone asks I went to the toilet."

"And what if they ask again?" Ron pulled a silly face.

"It's a big castle." Rachel smugly replied before hurrying out of the classroom after Hermione. She had taken her bag as she had no intention of going back to class afterwards.

She had no real idea where Hermione would be, she would have said the library but Hermione would not go during lesson time. She just hopped off the staircase as it began to move when she saw a hunched up figure on the floor.

"Hermione is that you?" Rachel called to the figure.

"You came." Hermione said, her face still bubbling with rage.

"Well I thought I better had. Can't have you wondering the castle on your own." Rachel joked, Hermione nodded and looked away.

"Don't worry about Trewlaney she's just an old dingbat." Rachel said in trying to comfort her upset friend.

"I'm useless at Divination." Hermione sighed.

"So is Harry, Ron and I. And so is probably most of the class!" Rachel laughed.

"But I can't be terrible. I study all the time, I read that textbook front to back at least five times. I just don't understand." Hermione complained.

"You don't have to be good at everything Hermione." Rachel pointed out. "You're one of the smartest people in our year, if not the school!"

"Thanks but I can't be if I can't even read my palm." Hermione huffed.

"Who cares?" Rachel said exasperated. "Honestly, you are going to work for the ministry I can see it! They're not going to mind that you can't read a palm. As long as you can read a book you'll be fine!"

"You think?" Hermione mumbled.

"I don't think. I know so." Rachel said chuffed she had made Hermione come to terms.

"You're a good friend Rach." Hermione happily sighed leaning against the wall.

"Well I try." Rachel chuckled. "Right come on, we're going back to the common room. I can't be arsed to go back to class. Let's go take a nap."

"A nap?" Hermione questioned but sighed. "A nap sounds perfect actually."

That evening, Rachel and Hermione sat in front of the fire. Rachel was casting her patrons for Hermione to gawk over. They giggled loudly as the fox ran around the room.

"Oh, they're at it again." Lee rolled his eyes pointing to Rachel and Hermione.

"What? Oh yeah ha!" George grinned cheekily looking at where Lee was pointing. "They bloody love that fox, eh?"

"Oh, leave them alone. She's not hurting anyone. Besides it's incredible she can do that." Fred muttered annoyed.

"Tell you what, for a third year she is hot." Lee said turning his attention back to the twins.

"Yeah she's not that bad." George winked at Lee.

"If you like that sort of thing." Fred mumbled.

"Fred we all know you like her. You're just salty she didn't marry you on the spot." Lee sighed looking at his Daily Prophet.

"Shut up." Fred rolled his eyes at Lee before looking back at Rachel. "She likes me."

"Did she actually say that?" Lee said looking at him unconvinced.

"I think you'll find she said she wasn't sure." George laughed.

"I know she likes me." Fred said, a ghost of a smile on his lips. "She just needs time."

"Oh yeah." George rose his eyebrows. "You said you were going to wait for her."

"Oh, I will." Fred smiled.

As Fred looked at Rachel, her eyes were lit up from smiling, the fire casting a golden glow on her face. He couldn't pick out one thing about Rachel he liked. Her messy hair, her beautiful eyes, her captivating smile, her attitude and personality. Everything about her he loved. The one thing he did not love about her though was the fact she was not his.

But he was determined to make it happen.
