"Rachel Potter would you please pay attention!" McGonagall pleaded for what seemed to be the tenth time.
Rachel tore her eyes away from the window back to the front of the class, where Professor McGonagall stood; her arms crossed in disapproval. At the back of the class, sniggers from the Slytherins arose. Rachel snapped her head round and glared at them all. She couldn't keep concentration at all, she had tried very hard but seeing Sirius just before class made her anxious and annoyed. It very much distracted Rachel from her lesson.
"What's got into you, you are usually very interested in transfigurations!" Hermione whispered into her ear.
"I'm just distracted I guess,. Rachel sighed.
"By what? What is so distracting out there?" She asked trying to look out the window, from which Rachel had been staring.
"Nothing! I'm just, oh, I don't know. I'm just tired I guess." Rachel said in a rush, looking anxiously at her paper on the desk.
Hermione said nothing in response, and looked at her paper also. Rachel could tell that Hermione suspected something, why wouldn't she? Rachel was making herself very suspicious how she acted, not to mention all the walks to the owlery. She often went there just to see if there had been anything from Sirius, but of course she told the trio it was just to see Buddy the owl.
The lesson finished and it was time for lunch. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Rachel left the classroom together, heading for the Great Hall. As always, too cheerful students - mainly first years Rachel had noticed - gossiping, laughing and the like. As they sat at the table, all three of them looked at Rachel curiously.
"What?" She asked, getting irritated quite quickly - a downside to her personality was that she had no tolerance.
"Nothing, you just don't seem yourself today." Hermione said sheepishly, Rachel slammed her fork down in frustration.
"Rachel what the bloody hell is wrong, you seem really tense!" Harry angrily said to his sister, unable to believe the sudden attitude she had.
"Do I?" She sarcastically said rolling her eyes.
"Pack it in." He hissed.
"Alright! Bloody hell, I'm sorry, it's probably because I haven't eaten anything... low blood sugar." She puffed, looking down at her legs ashamed of how she snapped at the guys.
"It's fine." Hermione cooed softly. Rachel looked up through her messy hair to her right, and gave Hermione a small smile.
So, like every day, it dragged on. But today was an exception, it seemed to drag on forever. Rachel had 20 house points taken off of her for 'daydreaming' and 'not paying attention'. She was glad to finally get back into the common room, she walked over to an old sofa and lay down; closing her eyes in exhaustion of today.
"Boo." Someone laughed above her, she knew who it was without opening her eyes, but she did so.
"Hey." She said greeting Fred and shuffling over so he could sit down.
"You alright?" He asked, studying her face. She began to answer that she was fine but was interrupted. "Well, I know you're not, so what's wrong?"
"Stress." Rachel simply said, glancing at Fred.
"Want to talk about it?" he asked.
"No."
"Okay." He smiled leaning back in the chair.
One thing Rachel loved about him was how he wouldn't keep pushing things if she didn't want to.
"Got twenty points taken off me, shouted at in every lesson... except potions. Snape said I had improved in my essay." Rachel said randomly.
