Chapter 17
Avery's Point Of View
We never talked about what happened last night, we went on to our usual lives like that 'love you' didn't happened at all.
And I got my kiss on the Eiffel Tower, which was quite amazing. We went back to school, and it went on like how everyday should.
I got into the gym for gym class, there are floorball sticks on the floor. Oh boy.
We all gather around and i sat next to Jordan. "Today, we're going to play floorball and we have an expert here." Coach Carter says.
"Evans, come up." He calls out, I snap my head at him. "Come on up," he says and I grab a stick and went next to him.
"Show them what you got." He throws the ball in the air, when the ball comes down. I begin hitting it up, it's a skill but it won't be used in the game.
;
"May the best team win." Eugene says, fist bumping me. "Loser treats lunch," I say, hitting the ball up. I catch it in my hands, "oh bring it on." He smiles and we stood in the middle.
I put the ball in the middle and pass it to Jordan who quickly pass it Sam. Sam quickly then score, "you got lucky." Eugene says.
;
"It wasn't a fair game." I stated, "yes, it was. You just can't accept the fact that we won." Eugene stated.
"So what you want to eat?" I asks, fixing my shirt. "Well, are you eating?" He asks, putting his hands on the steering wheel and turn to look at me.
"I don't think so.."
"Why not, Avery?"
"Because I am not hungry."
"We're going to take steaks." He smiles widely, I laugh at how awkward he looks. "Fine," I roll my eyes at him.
;
"I like the color blue, and I like Bon Jovi."
"Eugene, you told me that like 8 times already."
"Well, I really really like Bon Jovi."
"And I get it, I mean who doesn't like Bon Jovi?" I stated, "what's your favorite song?" He asks.
"You can't make me choose." My eyebrows furrowed at him slightly.
"Aw, Rosey. But you have to."
"Stop calling me, Rosey."
"But it's such a cute name!"
"It's not cute, it's stupid." I stated, "well, how about beautiful?"
"No." I frown slightly, "what's wrong with that?" He asks, sipping on his coke.
"I don't know.. I am just not, okay." I say, eating ice out of the glass.
I bite on the glass, "well, ice lady, you are. And accept it," He says, "why should I?" I ask, ice cubes in my mouth.
"Because, I find you beautiful."
;
"Hey Dad," I smile at him. "Hey kiddo, you birthday is in a week time." He reminds me. "Oh right," I snap my fingers.
"Why are you so happy today?" He asks, grabbing his wallet. "What are you talking about? I am happy everyday." I chuckled, "I have such a weird daughter.." He mutters.
"Dinner's in the fridge." He says, he pats my back and left.
I smile and went up to my room.
3rd March 2011
today, I went to lunch with him.
it was good day, i guess.everything actually went well for once.
but it still worries me,
tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and the rest of the year.and to be honest,
i really wish that Eugene will ask me to his girlfriend.- Avery Evans.
Next Day ;
"Hey idiot." I smile, putting my phone down next to him. "Oh hey beautiful." He smiles back at me, "hey Evans." Coach Carter approach me.
"Reece said you needed to see me," he says, raising his eyebrows. "Uh yeah, my leg is slightly injured. It's nothing big but I can't take any heavy warm-ups." I say.
"Okay, Evans. That's okay, as long as my star player doesn't quit." He says and leave us.
"What happened to your leg?" Eugene asks, "I don't know either, I must have hit into something." I mumbled, Eugene play with my phone in his hand.
"You're so clumsy." He laughs, he then slides open my phone. He went to my phone contacts, searching for his name.
"You didn't save my number?" He furrowed his eyebrows, pouting. "Who's your idiot?" He click on the contact that says, 'My Idiot' with a heart beside it.
"Nothing." I took back my phone, "I need to go to training, I will see you later. Bye." I smile at him. "Wait, kiss first." He grabs my wrist and pull me back. I peck on his cheek, "okay bye." I say, running over to the field slowly.
;
I held on to my thigh, feeling the soreness even standing up. The sun is shining so f-ing brightly, and it's f-ing hot that I feel like I want to take out my shirt.
"8 rounds!" Coach Carter shouted and we all started jogging.
After 5 rounds, I wasn't feeling that good. I was feeling breathless, which was unusual. I cough a little, "Evans, you doing okay?" Coach Carter calls out. Then I was pushed to the floor, I look up at who pushed me.
But the sun is blocking the face, but she's wearing a cheerleader outfit.
I can feel my chest tightening, I let out a groan of pain. "Avery, are you okay? What do you need?"
;
"I am fine, Dad." I stated, "it was nothing." I assured him. "And you need to go to work, I will reach home safely, don't you worry." I flash a smile at him.
"Mr Evans, we scanned your daughter's injured leg and it seems to be a sprain."
Oh steaks, you gotta be kidding me. Stupid leg.
I lean back on the headboard of the bed and groan softly.
;
"Hey Avery, what happened?" Eugene rushes in, "nothing. It was just an anxiety attack or something." I mumbled.
"Are you feeling better?" He pulls a few strains of my hair behinds my ear.
"Yeah," I smile weakily. I stood up and grab my stuff, "where's your Dad?" He asks. "He left for work a while ago." I replied, "hey Evans!" Sam and Zach enters the room.
"Hey guys.." I smile at them awkwardly, "what are you guys doing here?" I asks.
"Why is Eugene here?" Zach shot back, "because I am her best friend." Eugene stated.
"But we're your best friends." Zach says in a childish manner.
"We can all be best friends!" Eugene rolls his eyes, "we came to visit you." Sam replies to my question. "Well, there's nothing wrong with me. I can go home now." I say.
"Why is there something around your leg?" Sam furrowed his eyebrows oddly at my injured leg.
"Oh, it's just sprained.. Nothing big." I say shrugging.
