Chapter 7

Avery's Point Of View

I put on my running shoes, "where is Avery Evans?" I heard Sam's voice. "Sam." I wave my hand at him from afar.

He walks towards me, "hey I didn't catch you in lunch or any other lessons today." He says.

"Yeah, I'm sorry. I overslept." I apologized, he nods slightly. "Are you okay?"

Not okay at all.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I say, flashing him a smile. "Good, I will see you tomorrow." He smiles and left the girls locker room.

I went out to the tracks, "hey Evans, how was soccer tryouts?" Coach Carter asks.

"Coach Anderson is still thinking about it." I replied, shrugging slightly. "What's there to think about? You're the best soccer player I've ever seen." Reece stated.

"Aw thanks Reece." I give him a quick hug. "Are we training with anyone today?" I asks, hoping to see Eugene.

"Yeah, with the soccer team."

Guess he didn't came to school today.

;

After training, we're ready to head back home. "Bye Reece." I wave goodbye to him and went into the girls locker room.

I change my shoes to flip flops. It's much more comfortable.

"Well, Avery.." Isaac's voice startled me. I'm always the only person in these lockers at this time.

"Gotta admit you have a nice ass, and maybe.. I might take your virginity away." He says, smirking at me. I instantly felt uncomfortable, "and your first kiss." He added.

How does he know?

Isaac took a step towards me, "Ev-" He was then pushed to the lockers.

"Get away from her!" Eugene shouted at him, Isaac got up, laughing. "You have no power, Hunter." Isaac says, smiling.

Eugene was furious, glaring at him as he left.

He then turns to me, "are you okay?" He asks. I nodded in response. "Come on, I will be driving you home." He says, grabbing my bag.

I don't want to say anything to freak him out, so I just followed him.

Sweet mother of cars.

I look at his black sports car, I got into the passenger seat. "You want to get dinner or something?" He asks, "no thanks.." I replied.

He started the car engine, driving pretty badly. He stops in front of my house, "thanks." I say to him.

"For everything." I then added. "Aw, you're welcome." He smiles at me. I grab my bag from the backseat. "Hey Avery." He grabs my wrist before I leave.

I can feel her scars on her wrist under my thumb..

He lean in towards me, kissing me on the cheek. "If there's any problem, you need to tell me okay?" I nodded in response, still kinda of shock that he kissed me on the cheek.

I walk into the house, grinning like an idiot.

Wait a minute.

He grabbed my wrist.

;

She stares in the mirror, her hip bones showing, her collar bones are showing but she felt like it isn't enough. She isn't skinny enough.

I step into school, something written on my locker.

"Get the hell out of the soccer team."

My heart then start to went slow, but it was pounding. I look around the hallway, why are they doing this to me?

I want Lydia back.

"Hey..." Zach's smile faded when he saw the writing on my locker. "Avery, don't quit." He says, "I'm in the team..?" I asks.

He stares at me, "yeah.. Coach Anderson called your Dad yesterday." He replies. "Oh I never saw my Dad yet." I muttered.

"I am just going to say that there's training today, I will go get the cleaner to clean this." Zach says, walking off.

I take the things I needed for literature class, I turn around and saw Eugene walking into my literature class. Oh my.

;

Eugene sits at the back of the class, I fiddle with my pen nervously. "Miss Evans." The teacher called out, I look up at him.

"It should be Mr Evans, teach." One of the guys says, the teacher ignore him and kept his eyes on me. "Read your poem." He says. Oh steaks.

I stood up and gulp nervously.

I bite down my dry bottom lip.

I grab my paper off my table and stare at the words. How do you read?

Her hands are trembling.

Will my hands stop trembling?! I could hear laughter.

People are whispering about her. Laughing or snickering about something disgusting.

"If I sit in the rain, maybe I can drown in something other than my thoughts." I read out loud. A group of people laughed out loud instantly after I finished.

"I don't understand.." Chloe says, and majority of them agrees with her. "I understand." Eugene says, making everyone in the room quiet. "Okay then.. Eugene, read your poem." The teacher says and I took my seat.

"I like long walks.." Eugene says, everyone turn their heads to look at him. "Walks where i don't think I just walk and let nature soothe my soul." He licks his lips, why must he be so attractive?

I don't get why people calls him a jerk? Or dating him isn't worth at all?

"I like poetry, I like words. I like long deep phrases, phrases that make you rethink your entire existence." He looks at me then looks back at his paper.

"I like art, I like museums, I like adventures, I like taking chances, I like taking a long naps on the sofa in the afternoon after a long morning."

"Mr Hunter." The teacher says, "no, teach. Let him continue." One of the girls says, twirling her hair with her index finger.

"I like sleep, I like orange juice, I like colorful crew neck sweaters. I like movies, I like netflix. And yes, I may or may not like chick flicks." A few guys snickers. Aw, he's so sweet.

"I like my friends, I like messages from you. I like pizza. And I like Florida. I like random kisses on the cheeks." A few girls smiles and 'awed.'

"I like holding hands. I like long mentally stimulating conversations about nothing. I like to cuddle. I like book recommendations. I like sunrises. I like sunsets. I like the stars, I like the sun, I like the moon. And yes, I like you." Eugene finishes with a slight smile.

He then looks at me, with a wide grin.
