Chapter 19

so close,

   to feeling like

maybe, just maybe

i have a chance of being okay.

Avery's Point Of View

"Come on, Avery!" Jordan shouted in bright blue bikini while I am wearing sports shorts and a black sports bra. Should've bought a tank top.

Erwin has a very great body, he's tanned nicely and he's taller than Eugene which make him perfect for any girl.

I look over at Eugene, who is fooling around with the girls and the boys. "You have a great ass, and a amazing body." Jordan complimented me, "thanks." I mumbled, looking down at my hip bones.

"Surfing competition!" Erwin calls out, "boys." Jordan rolls her eyes and we went back to shore.

;

"Hey baby," Eugene carries me up, "hey!" I put my arms around him.

"Eugene, I am heavy. Put me down." I stated, sturggling a little. "You're not heavy, you're not fat, you're beautiful." He says, smiling at me.

Aw.

Can't believe he just said that.

He's adorable, oh steaks, why.

"Give me a reason why you're carrying me," I say, "well, around this area, there's broken glass. And knowing you, being clumsy and all so.. I am gonna carry you."

"Then how about you?" I asks, "I am not clumsy, Rosey." He replies.

I smile, my teeth showing. "Besides, I have a very good view." He says, licking his dry lips.

"Eugene!"

"Hey Avery," he mumbles, "mhm?" I look at him. "You gotta tell me what's on your mind, okay?" He asks.

"I don't need help."

"Avery,"

He took a deep breath, "I promise I won't hurt you." He says.

I nodded slightly, unsure what to say.

"Tell me what's on your mind right now?"

I love you.

"I am scared for tomorrow," i mumbled, "about what?"

"gym class." I murmured, "what's wrong with gym class?" He asks. "Girls in the locker room, they always stare at me and my body." I say, biting down my lip.

"I am sorry, beautiful. I will try to help you, but you know, ignore them. If there's any problem, come to me. I might be in the detention room."

Next Day ;

"Hey beautiful," Eugene sits next to me, "you're early in school today." He says. "Yeah because I have some art work i haven't done yet." I mumbled.

"Let me help you," he grabs the pink color pencil from me and color the petals of the flowers. It starts to have a little toning in it, which makes it look so great.

He scoot a little closer, and put his arm around me to adjust.

"You have to press it down a little, so there's a little toning to it. And it's looks better," he says. "Hey Eugene, there's ball in the court!" His friend called him, Eugene turn to look at them, not knowing what to say.

"Go join them," I say to him. "What?" He looks at me, "go join them." I repeated.

"Are you sure? I mean, I can stay with you. I can play basketball later." He says, "no, go." I stated.

"And yes, I am sure. Just go." I say, smiling. He kiss my cheek gently, "love you, best friend." He says and left.

Best friend.

Eugene's Point Of View

I got out of the detention room, making my way to my locker. "Hey Gene, your girlfriend cried." Jack Wilder says, "again, Avery isn't my girlfriend." I roll my eyes at him.

"And why did she cry?" I asks, frowning a little. "I am not sure, they just finished gym class, should be out soon." Jack says, and left when the bell rang.

"Hey," Avery wraps her arms around me. "Hey love, what's wrong?" I put my arm around her shoulder. I pull her closer to me, tears begin to roll down her cheeks.

"Hey, hey, Avery. Tell me what's wrong?" I asks, “is there something that happened in gym class?"

"Mhm."

"Can you tell me what's wrong?" I wipe away her tears with my thumb.

Avery didn't told me anything, no matter how many times i asked her. "Hey lovely," I sit beside Avery who is shading her notepad with her pencil.

"Hey idiot." She smiles slightly. "Avery, you gotta tell me what's wrong." I look at her with my eyes widen. She broke into a wide smile, her teeth showing.

"Don't look at me like that."

She's so beautiful.

"Avery, tell me what happened." Then I noticed something on her cheek, "Avery, what's that?" I put my hand on her cheek.

"What?" She looks at me, not knowing what I am saying. "Does it hurt?" I press on the small, faded blue-black patch on her face.

"Ouch, that hurts!" She backs away a little, "what happened? Who punched you?" I asks.

"No one punched me." She stated, "I just got into a fight." She says. "What? With who?"

"Chloe."

Holy penguins.
