My fingers trembled like crazy as my hand made its way towards it.

Towards the great big piano.

"Okay, You told me that you know how to play some tunes. So let's start, "The teacher placed her hand on my shoulder and smiled at me.

I nodded.

My fingers were still trembling.

As soon as I touched it the faded memories came rushing back to me.

My first concert at school.

I shook my head.

I was eight years old.

I felt myself go numb.

Everyone was there. At my first piano recital.

Tears started forming in my eyes.

Granny couldn't come, She was ill.

A tear broke free from my eye and made its way through my cheek to my upper lip.

We arrived home late, Celebrating my first piano recital.

I tried to blink back my tears.

We arrived home to find Granny dead. She died.

I closed my eyes.

I left music. It was the cause of my Granny's death.

It was the cause of my Granny's death in my eight years old mind.

I touched the piano and tried a little tune. And every memory went back to its place.

I wiped away my tears.

"Good. I see you do know how to play, Let's start with these easy ones."The teacher, Mrs. Kennedy set up some sheets in front of me.

Edwin's disappearance had made me strong.

I wanted to make strong decisions and fight my fears.

This was my first decision.

I had to accept the fact that I was not the cause of my Granny's death nor was my music.

                                                                 ****************************

After an evening full of melodies,I made my way to home.

This routine would make me light-headed, Soon Edwin will be home.

Everything will be alright.

I forced a smile to make myself believe that whatever I was thinking was true.

I walked along the street my hair fluttering with the wind I turned a corner and kept on walking.

The only thing in my mind was

"What was there for me in the future?"

"Will, I and my baby survive?"

"Will Edwin......

My thoughts were disrupted by a sudden commotion.

"Is there anyone who could help me? Is there?"A tall man, in shabby clothes and an old hat, was standing a little far away and calling out to everyone who passed by.

"Hey, Is everything okay?"I called out.

He looked at me.

"Mi Mujer, my wife...She's fainted. We new here...No sabemos el camino al hospital."He was Mexican. I could see that and knew little English.

"Er...I don't understand."I should have taken Spanish instead of French.

"Hospital...."I nodded. He wanted to go to the hospital.

"Come on, Take me to your wife."He started walking ahead of me and I followed.

On reaching a quiet corner he turned.

"Where is she?"I demanded.

"Fuiste y Presa fácil (You were an easy prey)"

"What?"I asked, Totally confused.

"Let me introduce myself, young lady....I'm Miguel Rodriguez"

Rodriguez?
All of a sudden a sharp needle pricked my neck
And everything went black.
