"Dove?"I turned my head sharply, just to see Edwin, holding the doorknob and Jake in front of me.
I.was.super.busted.
I stood up swiftly, Tears filling up in my eyes.
Jake stood up too, Edwin just stood where he was. Blank faced.
"Leave."He said. I looked at him, confused.
"W-what?"I stuttered.
"Jake. Leave, NOW!"Edwin yelled the "now" And it was enough for Jake, who left swiftly.
"This...this was the most special day for me. I wanted myself to be the person who kissed you tonight..and not..not..."
"Edwin...you know it was a mistake, I thought you were kissing me. I swear!"I took a step towards him.
"Dove. I know that, But you could have been a little more sensible, Gosh...I'm gonna need my time here,"
"Edwin...Are you doubting my sincerity?"I demanded, tears running down my face.
"No...no...never,But I'm hurt. I just don't know."He was shaking his head, He looked ready to cry.
If he cried today, I would never be able to forgive myself. Never.
But he didn't. He was controlling himself, I know that.
"Edwin, "I took a step towards him and placed my hands on his elbows. He looked so tired, even to move away from my touch. Instead, he just moved his elbows slightly.
"Edwin..."
"Say no more."And with those last three words, he turned and left.
For two seconds I stood dumb. Like I was so stupid not to follow him immediately.
After those two seconds, I realized he had just walked away. I gathered up my speed and rushed after him.
"Ed...ED!"I yelled, I reached the staircase and saw him moving towards the door.
It felt like all the energy had been taken from my body, I just stood there not doing anything. Then I turned and moved back to my bedroom where I closed the door and sat down on the floor.
Several minutes later Lindsay entered my room.
"A party is not a success if the host in abs......."She stopped and looked at me.
"Sup?"She demanded, sitting down beside me on the floor.
"You're...you're crying?"She started looking worried.
"Edwin...Edwin, "And with a lot of stuttering and sobs, I told her the whole damn story.
"Hell no.."Was all she had to say. And then she gave me a big hug and let me have a good cry on her shoulder.
"What am I gonna do?"Once I had had a good cry, I asked.
"I know just what to do."Lindsay smiled.
I was too tired even to reply or notice the way she smiled.
I told her to wrap up the party as soon as she can and then went to sleep, Not bothering even to change.
The next morning I woke up still in the clothes I had on the night before, Which was obvious as I had not bothered to change.
I stretched and got up, But suddenly I remembered the last night's events and felt ready to sob my heart out. But I suppose I was really tired to do that, I managed to climb out of my bed and wash my face so at least I looked decent.
I changed in a T-shirt and jeans and made my way downstairs. It was a glorious Saturday but It seemed dark to me.
My whole fucking world was in darkness now.
I was such an ass hole, I don't know how and why but I know I was.
Oh great, I'm swearing now. Nice.
Way to go Dove.
