We sat down at the Gryffindor table and began eating almost immediately. I ate a little less then usual, considering I was still a little grossed out from the disgusting and perverted comments Sirius made during Herbology.
I soon saw a certain seventh year Ravenclaw boy making his way over to Lily and I. Upon arrival he quickly asked, "Hey uh, Emily, can I talk to you in private really quick?"
"Yeah, sure," I responded standing up. "I'll be right back," I whispered to Lily as I walked away. I peered over my shoulder to see her giving me a thumbs up. I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at her.
Once we had left the Great Hall Beckett began to speak. "So uh, there is a Hogsemead trip coming up this weekend, and I was wondering if I could take you in a date while we were there?" His voice was laced with sincere nervousness.
"Uh, sure... I think that should work out fine," I replied, surprisingly calm. This highly attractive boy, is asking me out and I am staying calm? I am so proud of myself, even if it's only my exterior that is relaxed.
"Awesome! I'll meet you at the front doors before we head off on Saturday," he said before heading back to the Great Hall, with me following suit.
When I sat down at my seat lily squealed. "So, what did he want to talk about?" Her question had a very sing-song tone.
"He uh... He might have, sort of, maybe, asked me out... On a date this weekend..." I managed to get out awkwardly while a light blush grazed my cheeks.
Lily's squeals increased in volume. "Yes! I knew it! You two like each other! I told you so James," she gushed. James just grumbled with a playfully angry sigh in reply.
"What? How would you know?" I squeaked embarrassedly, the blush on my cheeks strengthening by the second.
"I just know these things," she stated with a smug grin breaking out on her face. I rolled my eyes and flicked an apple seed at her. She just laughed in response.
James, Remus, and Peter following along soon after. Sirius just stared at me dumbfounded. He angrily looked away when he realized I noticed him.
"What's up with him?" I whispered to Lily gesturing to Sirius.
"Oh he is just jealous," lily responded shaking it off.
"Jealous over what? Me going on a date?" I was severely confused at this point.
Lily just shrugged at me and continued eating. When we had both finished lunch, we linked arms and skipped off to potions class.
