Olive is wearing a sunflower yellow sundress for the evening. Her hair is done up like a rose... she did it herself. She is going to have dinner with her husband, Larry. He works hard shifts over at the office as a sales manager. That place is so dreadfully tall and awfully big to be the only company that sales a good time... manufactured wise. They are a sex phone line company... they sale their voice for a good 50 minutes. Most people who call in for a good time are creeps whom are lonely... and others aren't creeps... but lonely that just wants someone to chat with while they are alone all on their own feeling lonely.
Olive never understood why Larry wanted to work as the sales manger of a sex hotline for people to get their rocks off from it... which is weird and some what flattering. Olive never sees herself selling her voice for some creep to get off from her... she's a nice classy lady... she's not a cock teaser... she doesn't fuck around with that creepy shit.
It's not creepy but it is for some people... and Olive as well. It's 6:57 in the evening and Larry has not yet arrived home. Olive is sitting on her couch waiting for Larry to come home and spend time with her and make her feel like she matters... which she does. The kids are off having a good time with friends and lustrous lovers in the good old street of Iowa... leaving their mother alone in the house.... wearing a sunflower yellow dress. She loves that dress very much. It's the same dress that she wore when she went to the dance with her then boyfriend... Larry. Those were happier times... those were free times... those were magical times... a time of wonder and joy. Larry and Olive.
Olive suddenly arises from the couch and begins to slowly twirl around in the center of the living room and dances alone... being passionately intimate with herself and everything that is around her... imagining herself that she is in that ballroom... dancing with Larry so intimately... so in love. She miss him... she wants him home.
