Margie is packing lunch for her husband, Charles. It's going to be a long day for him over at the factory and he's going to be tuckered out and hungry by working roughly hard with the machines in that huge cold industrial space. She packed him two turkey sandwiches and two of ham, so that makes four sandwiches. lemonade in a canteen. Ziplock bag of mixed grapes: purple and green. And one Twinkie. Charles is set for lunch, he's is not gonna go hungry for at least half a day, maybe until dinner time. She loves him, she wants the best for him.
"Charles! Lunch is ready to go! Come down here." Hollered Margie as she close his lunch box shut and waits for Charles to come down stairs to the kitchen to catch his lunch and give old Margie a kiss goodbye before he goes to work. Charles comes down stairs and heads to the kitchen.
"Oooh, Margie. You do know how to make a mean old sandwich, haha, thanks. This is gonna make my day."Margie replies "Oh, you're welcome, hon." She gives him a kiss on the lips.
"Well, goodbye, sweetheart. I'm off to work, so I'll see you later. Have a good one."
"You too, sweetie. Be good. I love you."
"I love you, too. Tell Robin that I say hi and that I love her and sorry that daddy didn't come with mommy to see her, okay. Daddy has to go to work. She'll understand."
"Don't worry, Charles. Of course she'll understand. I'll tell her."
"Thanks, babe." Charles head towards the door and leaves the house with his lunch box and a hard hat on his head, Charles is off to work.
Margie steps out to the porch and waved goodbye to Charles, saying "Be safe, I love you..." watching him drive off to the road to his work. What felt like hours in head but was just a moment, a group of police vehicles and an ambulance rush pass Margie's street... trying to head toward their location. Margie watches them all drive away and then steps back into her house. They were all in a rush, it must've been a real emergency awaiting for them to come. "Holy moly, ain't that something."Margie sits on her couch and turns the radio on, so she can kill the stiff awkwardness/boredom in the living room. What is she gonna do today?
