Chapter 29

Rosé's POV

Monday - August 13, 2018

I stirred awake when I heard shuffling around the room. I relaxed when I saw it was just one of the nurses checking on Jungkook. After a few minutes, she left. I checked my phone and saw I had a few texts. I quickly answered Kai, Jennie, Nari, and my mom before holding Jungkook's hand again. There isn't anything to do here but there is no way I am leaving. When answering my texts, I had seen it was almost ten. I had slept a lot which is good considering I didn't get much sleep yesterday night. I'll just have to make up my schoolwork another time. I picked up my head again when there was a knock at the door and Nari walked in.

"Hi, Nari," My voice came out quiet as I had just woken up a few minutes ago.

"Hi, Rosé. How are you?"

"Better than yesterday."

"Good, I'm glad." She sat in the seat that I had been sitting in all day yesterday before continuing, "Have the doctors said anything?"

I shook my head, "No. He's the same as yesterday."

She hummed, "I'm sure he'll wake up soon."

"I appreciate the positivity. Also, were you the one who asked to have this chair brought in for me?"

"Of course and no, that was Irene."

"Oh, okay. I'll have to thank her later." It was silent for a moment before a question popped into my head. "How's Talia doing?"

"She's a mess. It's not easy for her seeing her hero in a hospital bed."

"It's not easy for anyone." I looked down just as a few tears fell and landed on Jungkook's hand that I was holding. I quickly wiped it away along with the others on my cheek. At the same time, Nari got up and wrapped her arms around me. I let go of Jungkook's hand to hug her back.

"I don't think I've ever thanked you." I pulled away and looked at her confused.

"For what?"

"For making him happy. This is going to sound cliché but I've never seen him happier."

"If I'm being honest I haven't been happier either." When she didn't say anything, I brought my eyes to meet hers. She had a small smile on her face. "What?"

"I'm looking forward to the wedding."

I smiled and looked down at the ring Jungkook had given me before my smile faded again. "Hopefully, we make it that far," I whispered to myself and luckily, Nari didn't hear.

"Knock knock." I picked my head up at my mom's voice as she slowly entered the room. "Hi, sweetie. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. How's everything at home?"

"Roman is with his friends and your father is investigating this...situation." I nodded. "Here, I brought you a change of clothes since you've been in those since yesterday."

"Thank you so much, mom."

"Of course. Why don't you go change and I'll wait here? I'll come and get you if anything happens."

"Alright, thanks again."

"No problem." I got out of my seat and hurried to the bathroom so I could change. I noticed my mom had brought one of Jungkook's shirts and his sweatshirt for me. I smiled before quickly changing. I then went back to the room and found my mom in the same spot. "You're all good?"
