Chapter 36
Rosé's POV
Sunday - July 11, 2021
I reached over and expected to find Jungkook but all I felt was the coolness of the empty sheet. I opened my eyes and looked around the room, not seeing him anywhere. I got out of bed and slipped into Jungkook's white dress shirt that was on the floor to cover my bare torso. I was about to go to the kitchen when I saw that the balcony door was slightly open. I made my way over and shut the door once I stepped out before shivering a little from the late night breeze. There I found Jungkook in nothing but a pair of sweatpants with a cigarette between his lips. He didn't turn around so he probably didn't hear me close the door. I approached his oblivious figure and wrapped my arms around his waist. He flinched a little at my unexpected touch before briefly placing one of his hands over mine. I let go so I could stand next to him before I reached forward and pulled the cigarette away. I let him puff out the smoke before I pecked his lips.
"Are you okay?" I asked, concern clearly laced into my words while he took the cigarette back.
"Everything's fine, princess. My thoughts were just overwhelming me and I couldn't sleep. I didn't want to disturb you so I came out here."
"Well, now that I'm up, tell me. What's bothering you?"
He looked down briefly before meeting my eyes, "You know that I'm always thinking about our future." I nodded, letting him know he should continue. "Well, I was just thinking about the times we've mentioned our future children, but we never really talked about having children. Like in our vows, we mentioned our future children but that was it. I guess we never really had an actual conversation about wanting to settle down and start a family."
"True, we never really had a conversation about it, we've just mentioned it once or twice, but why is that stressing you out so much?" Jungkook rested his elbows on the railing before holding his head in one of his hands, the other bringing the cigarette back to his lips. I walked closer and pat his back to try and comfort him. "Do you not want kids?"
He pulled it away, "Of course I want kids. If I didn't, I would have told you."
"Then what is it?"
"I'm just," He paused and ran his hand through his hair. "I'm scared."
I rested my head on his shoulder, "Me too. But we're going to have each other and our families to help us."
"I know, it's just I never had a good relationship with my dad and-"
I pulled away, stood straight, and took the cigarette away that was distracting him before throwing it off the balcony, "I'm gonna stop you right there because you are nothing like your father. If you think you're going to be like him, then you are wrong. You are going to be an amazing father who loves his kids and will do anything for them. You are a much better man than he was and ever will be. You took care of your sister for years when that should've been your parents' job. Yes, I know, your own kids are different and it's okay to be scared, but trust me when I say you do not have to fear turning into your father. And even after everything I just said, if you're still scared of that happening then you have to get over it within the next few months because our child is going to need their father-"
"Hang on a sec, what do you mean our child?" He stood in front of me as I bit my bottom lip to suppress my smile. "Are you pregnant?" I wrapped my arms around his neck while nodding. A smile instantly formed on his face as he wrapped his arms around me and picked me up before spinning in circles. "God, I love you so much Rosé."
"I love you too." He put me down and in turn, I wiped the few tears away that stained his cheeks. "So, are you happy or are you still scared?"
With one of the biggest smiles on his face, he responded, "I am terrified, but I am so unbelievably happy." He wrapped his arms around me again and pressed his lips to mine in the process. I smiled into the kiss. I was just so happy that he was happy. He pulled away and cupped my cheeks before his hands slid to my side and he got down on his knees. He then leaned forward and kissed my stomach. "Daddy can't wait to meet you." My smile grew hearing his words. "I'm sure mommy can't wait either." He stood up and moved his lips to mine again. "I love you so much princess and you have no idea how excited, though still terrified, I am to start a family with you."
"I love you too Jungkook and I am looking forward to our future too."
He smiled before kissing my forehead, "I promised you our future is forever and I mean it. Forever is and will always be what I want with you." I remembered his similar words from our wedding and was about to kiss him when he did it first. He lifted me off the ground slightly and brought me over to our bed. He laid me down before getting in next to me. He then pulled me to his side and kissed the top of my head.
"And what about you? Are you scared?" He asked all of a sudden.
"Yeah, of course, I am. You should've seen me when I found out."
He laughed a little, "Well, as scared as I am, I will do everything I can to remain calm for you because I can't imagine how nervous you probably are."
"Thank you. That means a lot and will probably mean more later when I'm farther along my term."
"Well, you're going to be an amazing mother, I can promise you that. Now don't stress yourself out too much and sleep. You and the baby need rest."
I smiled and wrapped my arm around his waist. He's going to be way more protective now and that is definitely not a complaint. "Goodnight Jungkook, I love you."
"I love you too Rosé."
