Chapter 14
Rosé's POV
Wednesday - February 7, 2018
I put on my cap and gown before going downstairs to meet my parents and brother who were rushing around trying to get everything done. Unfortunately, my mom wanted to take pictures. I stood by the door and did my best to not give a fake smile. I hate taking pictures by myself. She finally put her phone away and hurried everyone out the door. I got in the car after Roman and took out my phone to find a message from Jungkook.
Hey beautiful. I'm gonna do my best to show up at your graduation. I really want to be there, but avoiding your parents is gonna be hard without causing suspicion. I'll figure something out. I really want to be there for you. I'll text you where I am so you at least know I'm there.
It's okay, I understand. If you can't make it, don't worry about it. Just knowing how much you want to be there is enough. I love you ❤️
I love you too ❤️ I'll see you soon.
"What do you keep smiling at your phone for? Is it your boyfriend?" My mom joked. If only she knew she was right.
"Yeah, okay mom, sure," I responded, sarcasm laced into my voice.
She laughed before facing forward again. It didn't take long for us to arrive at the school. My family went to the bleachers while I went to the back of the football field and lined up with the rest of my grade. I quickly met up with Jennie and Kai. We talked a little bit about what we're doing after graduation until Jennie asked the question I've been waiting for her to ask.
"So, is Jungkook coming?" She questioned raising her eyebrow.
"He said he was, but with my parents here, it's gonna be difficult to avoid them if he wants to actually come over to me."
"You know, most people would think with you being with someone so much older than you that you wouldn't last very long, but you guys are really good together."
"He's not that much older than me."
"Well, he's not in our grade is what I'm trying to say. And he cares about you so much, it's so cute."
I playfully rolled my eyes at her comments. She says that at least once every time I see her. "Whatever. Let's just line-up." I laughed and pushed her forward toward Kai who was walking over to his spot in line.
We got in our spots and waited for the teachers to tell us to start walking. They cued us in and the music started. We walked over to our seats and I immediately scanned the crowd for my family and Jungkook. I found my family close to the front and saw Roman waving. I smiled and gave a small wave back. I continued scanning the bleachers and in the very top row, all the way to the left was a figure dressed in mostly black that I was able to easily recognize. I smiled and looked down, finally tuning in to the boring speech the principal was giving.

Following along with everyone else, I took my cap off and threw it in the air. Jennie immediately made her way over to me and embraced me. We were almost knocked over by Kai running into us, pulling us both into a hug. I hugged a bunch of my other friends as the crowd came down onto the field from the bleachers. I looked around the crowd for my parents and Jungkook but was surprised when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist from behind.
"Congratulations baby." I smiled and turned my head to the side. "I'm taking a big risk doing this but I had to see you. I got down from my seat earlier so I could make it over here before your parents."
