Chapter 6- The Bump

As I'm getting ready for school I stop at my mirror and turn sideways and place my hands on my little growing bump. Even though I'm only 2 and a half months I have a bump because of my small petite figure. I run my hands over my baby and think to myself. Will I be a good mother? Will Toni stay with me throughout this pregnancy? What will happen with Archie when he finds out? Will his dad do anything? Do I want Archie's family involved in my baby's life? Uh I don't even know. And how will my classmates react? My life sucks.

"Hey bubba. Just so you know I love you no matter how you were conceived. I will always love you," I say to MY baby.

"Hey Cheryl, who are you talking to?" Toni asks me before she walks into our temporary bedroom.

"Oh," she says as she sees me holding my bump," Oh my Cheryl! You have a bump! How cute!"

After Toni says that she walks over to me and puts a hand on my little baby.

"Hey Cheryl, Toni you guys are going to be late for sch-," my Aunt Alice starts to say as she walks into my room then she sees my baby bump and says," Oh my baby niece is having a baby." She says that as though she is just understanding that I am pregnant. She looks like she is about to cry when she walks over to me and gives me a hug. When she did that I burst into tears.

"Oh sweetie. What's wrong?" Alice asked me.

"I, I, I d-don't k-kn-know!" I say in between sobs like full on sobs.

"Shhh it'll be okay. I love you Cheryl," Alice tells me.

"I l-love y-y-you too."

"Okay now get ready for school. I'll drive Betty and you guys to school today," She tells me and Toni.

(Small Toni POV)

When I walked into our room I almost started crying. Seeing Cheryl stand there holding her bump and talking to it made me want to cry. I heard her call it bubba and I thought that was the cutest thing ever. I felt so bad for Cheryl because she is having a child she never wanted but she is going to love it anyways because it is a part of her. I heard her say to her baby that she loved it no matter what and when I heard that I knew that she will be a good mother even though she is a junior in high school.

(Back to Cheryl's POV)

When we get to school I see a crowd of people at my locker. I push through the crowd and see the word BITCH written across my locker. Right then and there I pass out. Again.

(Small Jughead POV)

I need to talk to Cheryl so I go to her locker only to see a crowd of people. I go through the crowd and see BITCH written on her locker and when I look down I see Cheryl on the ground. Then I yell,

"Why the FUCK didn't anyone help her!"

Right after I say that I fall to the ground and put her in my lap. I lightly shake her and call her name.

(Cheryl's POV)

I awake in Jughead's arms, still crowded by people. I hear Jug yell,

"Someone go get Toni! NOW!"

I see everyone rush off to find her.

"She's in the bio room," I say to Jughead.

"Cheryl you're awake!"

"What happened?" I ask but then I see my locker," Oh."

"Are you okay?" He asks worried.

"Yeah it's just from stress and," I say stopping knowing someone could hear what I was about to say.

"And what?" He asks.

"and," I say as I whisper in his ear," the baby."

"Oh but are you sure you're okay?" He says looking at my locker.

"Yes I'll be fine. Archie probably had someone do it." I say looking at my stomach.

"CHERYL!" I hear Toni yell from behind us.

She gets on the ground and pulls me from Jugs lap into hers. She pulls me into a hug and runs her fingers through my hair.

"Oh my god are you okay? What happened? Who did that?" She kept on rambling but I didn't catch what else she said.

"Toni. Toni," I say trying to get her attention," TONI," I say finally getting her attention," I'm fine. I'm okay."

"Okay. Do you want to go home?" She asks me.

"No. I'll be okay," I tell her reassuringly.

"Okay, if that's what you want."

"Good. Now Jug, will you help me up?" I ask.

"Yeah," He says pulling me up from the ground.

I walk up to my locker and take a deep breath before opening it. I grab my stuff and go to class as though nothing happened.

Later that day over the intercom I hear "Hello this is Principal Weatherbee. Cheryl Blossom, Antoinette Topaz, Elizabeth Cooper, Kevin Keller, and Forsyth Pendleton Jones please come to the prinipal's office."

I get out of class and see Toni, Betty, Kevin, and Jug in the hallway. They walk up to me and Kevin asks me,

"Do you know what this is about?"

"No. Do any of you?" I ask with a puzzled face.

"It's probably about your locker or bubba," Toni says.

"Who's bubba?" asks Betty.

"Toni! You heard me this morning?" I ask.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to say it, it just kind of popped out of my mouth," Toni said to me.

"That still hasn't answered my question," Betty says.

I pull up my loose shirt to expose my bump. I point at it and say,

"That, is bubba."

"Oh Cheryl it's so cute," Kevin says.

"Yeah, yeah," I say pulling down my shirt," Lets just get this over with."

We all walk into Principal Weatherbee's office. I take one chair and Betty takes the other. Jug, Kevin, and Toni stand behind us. Toni has her hands resting on my shoulders.

"So, do any of you know who vandilized Cheryl's locker?" Weatherbee asks us all.

"No but I have a pretty good idea," Toni says.

"Who?" He asks her.

"Archie Andrews probably had something to do with it," She responds.

"And what would be his reasoning for that?"

"He forced Cheryl to have you know what with him and she told my dad. THAT, is why he would have something to do with her locker," Kevin says angrily to Weatherbee.

"Really? I had no idea. I'm so sorry that happened to you Cheryl," Weatherbee says apologetically.

"Thanks. I'm okay now," I say to him.

"You are not okay," Betty says," That, is not okay." She points to my stomach.

"Betty!" I say gritting my teeth.

"Also do any of you know why Cheryl has passed out in my school twice now?" he asks us.

"I do," says Jug raising his hand," We all do but it's up to Cheryl if she wants you to know."

(Toni's POV)

"Cheryl do you want to tell me why you passed out?" Weatherbee asks her.

I can see Cheryl is uncomfortable so I ask her, "Do you want me to tell him?"

She nods her head yes.

"Okay I'll tell him. Cheryl fell pregnant as a result of what Archie did to her."

"Oh my. Um, you are all free to go and Cheryl I'm so sorry. I will have your locker cleaned and if anyone says or does anything mean to you because you are pregnant, I will suspend them or give them a week of detention. Thank you all for your time and try to have a good rest of your day."
