As the exited the plane runway, they made their way through a few corridors in search of their luggage. Janella's father had been to this very airport a few years earlier, not knowing they'd be moving here, so he knew exactly where the luggage claim was held. Even though she was paying attention to where they were walking, Janella couldn't help but notice the lifestyle and proximity of what was all occurring in this airport. Everything looks so busy. Wow. So many rushing people, I guess that's what its supposed to be like in airports, but at the early morning time Janella and her father had left at, Florida's airport was barely booming.

“Janella? Janella Eriks?” a woman about twenty feet away, called.

“ Umm . . . yes?” she called back, a confused tone in her voice. She didn't know this woman, but she was evidently surprised the woman knew her. “Hi! It’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m Brooke’s mum . . . Kylie? I’m not sure if she ever mentioned me, but I’m here to pick you and your father up. Is he here?” The pair shook hands, while Janella just stood eying the woman. She was truly surprised that this woman could be related to Brooke, based off what Brooke looked like over skype, but it was obvious Brooke must get her looks from her father. Noticing she still hadn't replied, she moved her hand away from Kylies' and replied.

“Oh, umm sorry. Yeah, he is. I, I thought Brooke was going to pick us up . . .”

“Yes, I apologize for that.  Brooke is still out with some friends. She texted me to come get you.”

“Oh . . .” Janella replied, dragging each letter longer than implied. Even though she was a litle disappointed, she fully expected this to happen. Trust me, she thought. Being on that plane, for that long, gives you so much time to think that it's not even funny.

“J? Who’s this?” Janella’s dad asked while walking towards the two of them. He had already grabbed their left over bags, and was standing next to her, smiling at the stranger. Janella looked at her dad, surprised that she had completely forgot he was still in the airport.

“Dad, this is Kylie- Brooke’s mom . . .” she responded very slowly. It was weird watching the two of them interacting... Adult's are weird to be honest. “Oh, well it’s a pleasure to meet such a beautiful woman such as yourself.” He winked. “I appreciate you coming to pick my daughter and myself up to take us to our new home.” Janella smirked at her father's approach to the first woman he met in England, but she was also happy for him. It'd be a while since Janella's mom had been in the picture, and evidently he needed someone to settle down with. Plus, she could use a sister like Brooke. “No! It’s my pleasure! Well, shall we get going?” Brooke’s mum asked. “And Janella, I’ll be happy to take you over to meet up with Brooke.”

“Okay . . . thanks.” Janella shyly replied, finally being interjected into the odd conversation between the two of them. It was like they had finally noticed she stood their just looking at them, pulling them out of their own personal worlds. Together they hopped inot her friend’s mom’s car- a black mustang with two smooth red stripes on the hood, traveling their way to the back of the vehicle.

            Well. Here I come London!

“Jan-e-l-l-l-a-a!” her dad cheered. “ You do know what time it is . . . right?”

“No, London is a different time zone- so I have no idea!”

“No silly! HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY PUMPKIN!” Chris, her father, shouted.

They were still in the minature car Brooke's mom owned, on their way home from the airport. Janella was viewing her surroundings while her dad, who sat in the passenger seat, pointed every little detail out to her. He and Kylie had been talking non-stop since they left the airport, but it seemed that as soon as he looked at the car's clock, he recognized what time it was. Brooke's mom, however, seemed fairly unhappy with the surprise. “It’s your birthday?! Brooke never told me! This calls for a celebration! While you're with Brooke I’ll bake you a special cake!”
