Chapter 37: A True Friend

"So, your not gonna tell me... to get out of your way this time?" Enji asked his son. They accidentally met up while Shoto was going to the audience.

"Without your flames, going all out is dangerous. But, you managed to get over your childish rebellion! Your ready to replace me! Even to surpass! Work at my side when you graduate. I'll lead you to the path of victory and success." Enji offered.

"I haven't put aside anything. As if I can be turned that easily. It's just that, in that moment... in that instant... I forgot all about you." He replied coldly. "Wheter it's bad or good, or something in between, that's something I'll have to think about."

Izuku was rushed to Recovery Girl. "My... TOSHINORI WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN TEACHING THIS CHILD?!" Recovery Girl smacked him.

Recovery Girl treated him. The tournament was suspended for a while because of this.

Recovery Girl's treatment lasted for an hour and 30 minutes. While she was doing this, Hatsume fixed his invention. Izuku trusted her the most at 1-H. He told her the steps of fixing his invention.

"Gah! This is too hard! How could Midoriya make this when he was a child?!" Hatsume groaned.

Katsuki cried the whole time. Recovery Girl told him that Izuku might not survive due to the severe damage he took. Todoroki felt sorry.

After 2 hours, there is still no news from Recovery Girl if Izuku can love or not. Katsuki went inside. He saw Hatsume assisting him put his invention on.

"Hi! Bakugo, right? Your Midoriya's closest friend. He told me stories about how great you are." Hatsume smiled. "He said that?" Katsuki blushed. "Yeah. He also said that you had been so nice to him ever since you and Midoriya met!" "T-that's not entirely true." Katsuki sighed.

"But, he's still not waking up. I hope he'll be okay once he did. I want him to live and not die because of this tournament." Hatsume continued trying to put Izuku's invention on him. "Damn, how can he do this?!" Hatsume pouted.

"Here, let me help you. He tought me how to put this thing on before." Katsuki got Izuku's invention and put it on him.

"Wow! It's increadible! I didn't even know what that thing is used for!" Hatsume exclaimed. "It's nothing. Sometimes, Deku just fear that something like this might happen." Katsuki replied.

"Hey, Midoriya told me his promise to you." Hatsume continued. "He figured that he won't be able to keep his promise. He instucted me to tell you this just in case he won't be conscious." Hatsume got her cellphone and it started to play Izuku's voice.

"Heya Kacchan! Sorry if I would break my promise to you. I would make you kill Todoroki if I were unconscious for the next hour, or day. But here's the thing, I want to help him. N-not winning of course! He told me some family problems and his vow not to use his left side. I want him to understand that his quirk is his quirk and not his father's nor his mother's. I am so sorry for making you worry Kacchan. From, yours truly, Izuku Midoriya a.k.a. Deku." The voice ended.

"D-deku said that?" Katsuki asked Hatsume. "Of course he did! He's such a good friend to you, huh. I never figured I would become friends with him one day." Hatsume replied.

Katsuki noticed scars in Izuku's hands. "He didn't have these before. Did that shit cause this?" Katsuki asked Recovery Girl. "Yes. That is the damage done by their attacks. This would be a permanent sign of his carelessness today." Recovery Girl informed Katsuki.

"I-"
"AND NOW, THE MOMENT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR... THE HOT HEADED KATSUKI BAKUGO AND THE DARK EMO BIRD, FUMIKAGE TOKOYAMI!!!!" Present Mic announced.

Katsuki ran and went to the battle field. "I will win this fight, and crush you... Todoroki Shoto..." Katsuki told himself.

"READY? SET. GO!" Present Mic yelled. Tokoyami went defensive.

Katsuki remembered what Izuku said. Kacchan can handle Tokoyami. Tokoyami's dark shadow will get weaker if it's near a light source. We'll just use Kacchan's explosions to weaken it!

Katsuki attacked Tokoyami. Tokoyami instructed Dark Shadow to grab him but Katsuki attacked with a large explosion. He jumped to Tokoyami's back and made a larger one.

A dust cloud appeared. The crowd awaited for the result.

When the cloud cleared, Katsuki was holding Tokoyami's beak on the ground and had some explosions on his hand to scare Dark Shadow.

"I-i give up." Tokoyami sighed. "AND KATSUKI BAKUGO MOVES TO THE FINALS!!!! NEXT UP, WE HAVE SHOTO TODOROKI VERSUS KATSUKI BAKUGO!!!"

"Man, Tokoyami isn't invinsible after all." Ojiro sighed. "I really thought he would win..." Hagakure replied.

"Weakness to light, huh. Good job Bakugo for exposing Tokoyami's secret." Kirishima commented. "Today was really class A's win, huh. Damn it." Tetsutetsu cursed.

"Observe and learn. Then, we'll get back to them later." Iida told Uraraka. Then, Iida started to vibrate.

"Gah! What was that?!" Uraraka exclaimed. "Sorry, it's my phone." Iida excused himself as he went out to answer the call.

"Hello mom." Iida started. "Sorry I disappointed you."
"No worries. Oh, Tenya... please listen to me carefully. Do not panic. It's about Tensei. Sorry to break this to you but, a villain got him."

"You people haven't realized... how they're mired in vanity and hiprocrisy... this so called heroes... in this twisted society... but I... will make you realize..." A man narrated.

"Finally... I have found you, Hero Killer: Stain." The black mist told him.

The man tried to slice the mist. "Oh relax. We're on the same side. You're really quite infamous. I really want to meet you. May I have a minute of your time?" The mist smiled.

Both Todoroki and Katsuki went to their waiting rooms.

Todoroki went in his waiting room first. He tried to relax.

Suddenly, the door opened. Katsuki kicked it.

"Huh, wait. Prep room 2. Ah fuck." Katsuki sweared. Todoroki simply glared at him and started to relax again.

"Hey man, I know I walked into the wrong room but don't give your final opponent a cold shoulder. What the fuck is your deal?! Look at me straight in the face, two fucking face!!!" Katsuki yelled.

"That... Midoriya told me the same thing. He went pass his limits to smash what's holding me back. You have been friends with him since you were kids, right? Was he always like that?" Todoroki asked him.

Katsuki was trying to hold back his tears. "Don't ruin my mood. That damn nerd, obviously!!! Are you blinder than him?! Don't bring up the Deku topic again, or else you might end up being cared by your fucking dad." Katsuki told him as he went away.
