Another day was starting to loom to an end. The blue sky was starting to obtain a faint yellow tint, the sun resting low over the horizon.

Jesse couldn't see much of the sunset, her eyes only meeting a canopy of leaves every time she looked upwards. Even though she felt a little bummed that she couldn't watch the sun set, Jesse wasn't complaining. The roofed forest was really nice and cool in comparison to savannah they last stopped in.

Lluna snorted, shaking her head. Jesse slowed her step slightly so she was walking alongside her llama, giving the animal a reassuring pat on her fluffy neck.

"Easy now, girl. We'll stop soon." She said.

Lluna snorted again, giving Jesse a nudge with her head. She giggled slightly, fishing an apple out of her overalls pocket and offering it to Lluna.

"Here's a creek." Petra announced from the front, stopping by a small stream of water. "We can fill up our water bottles and have a drink before walking the last stretch."

"How much further do you think we have to go to the base of the mountain?" Jesse asked as she lead Lluna over to the stream. The llama lowered her head, drinking deeply from the clear water.

"I have no clue." Petra admitted, holding her empty bottle in the water. "It's so hard to see through all these trees."

"Maybe we should just set up a dirt hut or something here for the night?" Jesse suggested as she to knelt beside the stream. "Lluna's already beat. Not to mention that the sun is setting. We don't want darkness gaining on us."

Petra gritted her teeth, looking off into the trees. "You're right." She admitted. "I just really wished we could have gotten there today."

"Me too, believe me." Jesse said with a shake of her head. "Travelling in this heat is not my favourite thing to do." She leaned slightly down, cupping some of the water in her hand and splashing it on her sweaty face.

Lluna snorted as if she was agreeing, shaking her head and splattering water all over Jesse. Petra came walking over, heaving their chest of supplies off Lluna's back and placing it down on the grass.

"It's beautiful here." Jesse said, gazing out over the small stream that trickled deeper into the trees until it disappeared from site. "If we didn't have a set destination in mind, I would have said we should bunker down here for a bit."

"I would have agreed, if it weren't for the fact that I prefer caves over dirt huts." Petra said, taking out an iron axe from the chest. "Think you could get started on a shack for the night while I go get some wood for a fire?"

"Sure." Jesse replied, her gaze still fixed on the stream.

She heard Petra's footsteps fade into the distance, until it was completely silent. The only sounds being the occasional birdsong and rushing water. As well as the occasional grunts of Lluna, as she rolled around on the grass to scratch her back.

Sighing softly, Jesse got up from the grass, walking over to where Petra placed their chest. She couldn't help but smile to herself as she began putting together a small dirt structure.

It's been two entire years since the three of them left Beacontown. Jesse had been uncertain what this new life would be like, and whether she'd inevitably miss her town or become homesick. But even a the months flew by, she found herself loving the journey alongside Petra and Lluna. Just taking on whatever the world threw at them.

Sure, there were the occasional nights where Jesse would lie awake, thinking about how things were going back in Beacontown. Days where she missed the rest of the Order, wishing she could see them again.
