Hiding in the shadows. Watching the large white building. Waiting for the lights inside to go off.

Jesse sat at her dining table, her right elbow propped up on the wooden surface, her forehead resting in her hand. Holding the black felt-tip pen in her left hand, it silently sweeping over the paper.

Her bare foot softly tapping against the wooden floor, brown eyes fixed on the paper in front of her. A tired smile forming on her lips as the thunder rumbled outside, her love for rain having never faded.

Clenching their fists, pulling the hood of their raincoat down further over their head. Silently wishing the young woman inside to retire to bed.

Jesse placed her pen down on the paper, reaching out for the cup of half-filled hot cocoa beside her and taking a small sip of the hot beverage. Holding the cup in her right hand as she used her left to rub her tired eyes, cursing the headache that was starting to form.

Jesse glanced up at the clock on the wall. It was nearly midnight. She wasn't planning on going to work the next day, Radar having offered to take over for a bit to give her some off time. She debated on going to bed, or continuing to work. She could sleep in after all?

Cursing under their breath, gritting their teeth as the cold wind blew over their wet form. How much longer did they have to wait?

Jesse stifled a yawn, getting up. She finished off the last of her hot cocoa, walking to the kitchen and leaving the empty cup in the sink. She tugged off her thick jacket, revealing her thin pyjamas underneath. Shivering slightly in the cold air as she reached out to switch off the light.

Light on the ground floor went off. That's a start...

Jesse walked up the staircase, keeping a hand on the stair's railing. Her tired eyes drooping already as she walked into her bedroom, shutting the door.

She looked at herself in the mirror, managing a tired smile. At least she knew she had a relaxing day awaiting her the next morning...

The figure tapped their boot on the ground, splattering some mud up their pants leg. Somebody behind them placing a hand on their shoulder. "Just be patient."

Jesse lay down on her bed, nestling herself into her soft pillow. Looking up at the bedroom ceiling with tired eyes. Wondering what will await her the next day.

After all... her life has been getting so repetitive. When was the last time she took out her sword? Felt like years...

Jesse turned around on the bed, reaching for the lamp on her bedside table and flipping the switch.

The light behind the curtains of the bedroom went off. The figure stood up right, rain threatening the pull their hood off. The same person from earlier touched their shoulder again. "Be patient." They said firmly.

The first figure glanced back, glaring at the other one. There were more chuckles in the dark, more people laughing at the head of their group's impatience.

"Give it time." The second figure said, sitting back down and folding their arms for warmth. "She needs to be asleep."

The first figure gave in and nodded, sitting down. Shivering as they pulled their raincoat's hood further over their head, gusts of window sending sheets of rain down onto the hooded people. But they didn't budge.

Simply, waiting.

Jesse's eyes slowly fluttered open, and she shivered. Her entire body was ice cold, her skin stiff with goosebumps. Jesse blinked a few times to get her eyes used to the dark, sitting slightly up on her pillow.
