Maya decides to walk it back. She can't stop thinking about the boy. His surname is Jones. He must be related to Ciara. What if it's just a coincidence? Why did he say she was prettier than he expected. What was that supposed to mean!
It takes Maya 30 minutes to get back even though it would have been much quicker by car. She walks into her apartment and Jake and Amy are sat down. They get up and walk towards her. Jake gives her a tight hug and then let's go. Amy does the same.
"You should have called Maya, I would have come to get you." Jake says.
"Are you okay babe?" Amy asks.
"Am I okay? That's stupid to ask, of course I'm not!"
Maya realises what she has just said.
She sighs. "I'm sorry Amy... I'm just tired."
"I understand." She nods.
"Well I should go... I have to be up early for work." Jake grabs his jacket.
Maya walks towards him and wraps her arm around his waist. She looks up at him.
"I really appreciate you spending the time with me today Jake. I'm sorry about how the day ended."
She goes on her tip toes to kiss him but he moves his head. She furrows her brows, confused but doesn't say anything.
"I'll text you okay." He steps back and opens the door.
" I love you." Maya says.
"I love you too." He replies before walking out and closing the door behind him.
